  1. Black Crowes: Before The Frost Until The Freeze (especially the Vinyl - Song order is different)
  2. If I am not mistaken, I thought the current health care bill was written mostly by the insurance industry, with of course Democratic leaders throwing their own spice on top. I can't comprehend any senator or congress member writing yet alone reading 2000 pages of legal jargon.
  3. I do agree with you, I just do not agree that single payer is America's solution. I do not think employees should offer health insurance. Which again is another unintended consequence for government intervention in the middle of the 20th century. Our health care system is fucked up, but a lot of it has to do with red tape regulations. There are many factors that have gone into raising the cost, there is not one silver bullet, but I think we should open up the doors for companies to compete across state line, which I think some companies might not want. Introducing an a la carte menu - whi
  4. I agree with a lot of what you wrote, but: The invisible hand has never been involved in health care, government both state and federal (and yes health care lobbyist) have had their hands all over it. Laser eye surgery has had free run without government intervention and that price has dropped significantly. Also.. thank god same with boob jobs.
  5. It is not contradicted. The cost for coverage for all is a nice idea of utopia and may work for several generations, but the problem with relying on other peoples money is that it runs out. However the cost will still be there and will continue to increase. Also the good government intentions lead to unintended and usually negative consequences. For example, if a law stated that all businesses must cover their employees with health insurance small and midsized businesses might not hire more people due to the costs. Sure US could cover everyone including the illegals right now.... but o
  6. Impossible, and if that phenomenon did happen, the overage would dwindle over time while the costs increased. I have worked in the field of Medicare and if a senior wants real coverage they best get a supplemental PRIVATE insurance. Your sarcasm is not necessary, but if you want we can have fun trying to outwit each other. If government controlled the flat screen tv market, those tubes would still be hovering over ten grand if not more instead the prices have fallen dramatically.
  7. The invisible hand lowers the price. The government's intervention raises prices. If not directly than indirectly.
  8. It is not true. The band and management were totally pissed off when Ford quit - two days before the tour was to start up again. It also showed in their performance after Ford left and Stacey took over. Terribly bad compared to the year Ford just spent with the band. No way would C. or R. want to give that up for Stacey. Well maybe R. because of control issues (I kid I kid.... sort of) They were so mad that management expressed their anger publicly. Stacey filled in for the rest of the tour but was never NEVER going to be the guy. They decided on Luther because he is awesome,
  9. I don't think my view is optimistic. I think it is terribly pessimistic. The public is focusing on attacking a person that currently has zero effect on anyone's lives rather than really studying current issues that will dramatically effect our lives (for better or worse whatever). The reason Palin has all the attention is that the people that hate her keep giving attention to her. This is happening on print and television. I don't think (and hope) Palin can win an election, despite Obama's efforts to continually fuck things up. Bush won because people did not want Gore and wanted to mov
  10. Paul Stacy replaced Ford after he faxed his resignation two days before the tour. After that tour, Luther joined for Warpaint, Stacey produced. Luther has been friends with both C. and R. for some time. Rich and Luther did Circle sound which was a fun show and C. has appeared on stage with NMAS during 2004. Luther is still with NMAS and is following the footsteps of Warren Hays. Just a lot more noodling. Was not at all that happy with most of Warpaint. However there are some key songs I really like, including Whoa Mule and yes Gold In Them Hills. Their most recent album BTF/UT
  11. http://www.blackcrowes.com/ To Everyone Who's Cared: Gladdest of tidings and happiest of New Years - so say all of us in The Black Crowes musical group! Just a quick note to begin our future and a glance over our collective shoulders at what once was. A heartfelt and sincere thank you is well in order, not just for the last tour, but for the last mystifying 20 years (WTF!). Without your support and interest we would be nothing but a void. With the breath of life, and the travels to and fro, a lump of clay is now a lifetime of song and adventure. Thank you for letting us drive this ou
  12. My question is why is Palin an issue? She has a large following, but nothing that will get her elected. She stepped down from being a Governor to an author/anchor. She is of no threat. Zero. However the media has to attack her almost daily to knock her down a peg or two. Why? Why do they feel threatened? The US population has to gain some focus here and stop acting like the mob on the school yard. BTW I am not a Palin fan but I do not hate her, I just pay no attention to her.
  13. Add this to my list. Great album - spooky good.

  15. I really enjoy Gnarls Barkley however I think Cee Lo Green's (GB singer) first solo album is superior to both those albums.
  16. Your 4 year old nephew can write lyrics like this??? You've gone to the finest schools, alright miss lonely but you know you only used to get juiced in it Nobody's ever taught you how to live out on the street And now you're gonna have to get used to it You say you never compromise With the mystery tramp, but now you realize He's not selling any alibies As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And say do you want to make a deal? Oh, you never turned around to see the frowns On the jumpers and the clowns when they did their tricks for you You never understood that it ain't no good You shou
  17. Thanks. I saw some answers like that, but I hoped to find a detailed website that showed the how to do.... There are several for the ipod, but of course it is grossly more popular.
  18. Common - was mentioned before by a couple Handsome Boy Modeling School - Also mentioned in this thread. Dr. Dre - Best Rap Producer Ever. If not one of the best overall Snoop Dogg - His first two albums are straight up jazz My Favorite: Cee Lo Green - His first solo album is excellent and one of my favorite all time records. Mickey Avalon: This kid cracks me up, he has a good album and his swagger is as smooth as Mic Jagger. It is mostly fun with this cat, but he has a serious side to him also. Check out his songs/video: My Dick Jane Fonda F***in Em All
  19. Anyone know if this is possible? I have a several shows that I would like to extract from my Dell Jukebox. The computer that had all the shows crashed and burned. Yes I have a dell mp3 player.
  20. They covered Immigrant Song many moons ago, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Tweedy was not on vocals.
