  1. Wilco opened for Natalie Merchant also, and I am not going to go suck up to her garbage. That tour was painful especially watching her come on stage and dance during some songs. Crow has one ok album, after that she blows. Her covers are boring and besides her one album her songs are passionless. Green Day = terrible pop punk. Keith Who?
  2. Rich Robinson & Marc Ford - Black Crowes Christopher Thorn & Roger Stevens - Blind Melon Jack White & Brendan Benson - The Raconteurs
  3. Interesting... I only like 3 or 4 songs off of Warpaint (Whoa Mule, Gold in Them Hills, Josephine, and Evergreen) and for the most part skip the rest. Lions even more so, and Miracle To Me, to me, is a skipper. Lions comes off way better to me live. Midnight is great, Young Man is great, well umm two songs off of Lions come off great live. Of course to each their own.
  4. Cannot stand the Hip. One song I like.
  5. The weeks lineup, or so I heard. Mon: Green Day Tues: Keith Urban Wed: Sheryl Crow Thur: Phish Fri: doesn't say, just says official release and a picture of the album. Rumor has it that the Stones might show up, doubt it. I have to say besides Phish, this is pretty weak and quite a let down of all the possibilities.
  6. There are a few good songs on this album, I have put that album on the shelf a long time ago, I don't even know what songs I liked, all I know is that I liked only a few. The rest of the songs are terribly disappointing. I skipped their last tour because of this album. I should not have considering they are excellent live and the sets were fantastic, but again, I was terribly disappointed.
  7. Unfortunately, it took the death of an owner to get some results for Chicago, not high draft picks. The Detroit Lions have been the leading example that Cowboy Poet is describing. They are terrible year in and year out and are rewarded with #1 draft picks, but that has not done anything for the organization, but sell more jerseys to the union boys in the automotive factories. I agree with the worst team getting the first picks. I also agree that it is not the picks that make the team better (obviously it helps) but the organization has to be good as a whole, from the top on down.
  8. Yeah, after Warpaint (which I think has a few really good songs and the rest being mediocre) I was totally blown away. Three Snakes is my favorite album of all time. The last tour was a just a good ol rock and roll show. Led with bluesy bluesy piano and nice jams.
  9. I agree with you here. As much as it hurts me. However I believe that when the Wings are in their top form they cannot be beat. Which brings me to the other quote. I think this theory is valid. However you add this theory into the whole mix of what makes a team good or bad and when looking at the Wings you have to realize that the Wings are just not the better team this year. If they cannot keep up with the other teams due to past successful seasons than they are not the better team this year. With all that, go Wings and lets hope for three in a row!!!
  10. The Big Three (Southern Harmony, Amorica, and Three Snakes) cannot be topped. I absolutely love their latest album BTF / UTF, and I am quite disappointed that they are taking a break.
  11. I thought so also, until tonight's 7-1 win. Still a mountain to climb. A mountain so high I believe only two teams have reached the summit.
  12. Crowes and Wilco also performed 'Casino Queen' together. It is a great performance and can be found on a Crowes circulation called Archers' B-Sides
  13. They so do. Their D is lacking and Howard is not holding up that well in the playoffs, despite his shutout. Last night San Jose had 10 power play opportunities including several 5 on 3. Wings had 4 PP opportunities. Boston just got a nice win. If Detroit does not make it, I would like to see the Canadian teams go or Boston and Chicago.
  14. Several points in that article by Chris Hedges are ridiculous. Including: President Obama is making efforts to close Gitmo. He is making efforts to withdrawal troops from Iraq. Pharm companies murdering tens of thousands of people. Ridiculous I say...
  15. Excellent post, and you are old. ... and magnet schools are also not the norm, but I think you know more than I in this matter; only in this matter.
  16. The advanced placement class is highly the norm. The seniors have a lot of bullshit classes. I don't recommend ridding the level all together, but making the courses more in line with dealing with adulthood and college.
  17. NEM live shows are much heavier than the albums. Especially the first CD.
  18. The arrogance and disrespect alone may lose it for your side.
  19. I don't think Obama has done well, I don't stand with him on most of his issues. However I am not at ALL a fan of Palin, if anything I think she will weaken the GOP. Bobbob and JohnO bring up good points. It seems that many presidents win because the other candidates are dopes.
  20. Obama - Praise be upon him.
  21. The fear of giving up America's sovereignty is more realistic than the oceans swallowing up the earth due to melting ice.
