Yeah, I remember him bowing out of the conversation here, but was wondering if he had returned.  I disagreed with him on virtually every topic that came up, but enjoyed the debate.  And it's important, I think, to keep the lines of debate open with those of differing opinions.

Yeah, the most important thing is getting him a guitar that he'll WANT to play. 

 wholeheartedly agree with this. it's true that electrics are easier on the fingers that steel string acoustic. you could also consider a nylon string acoustic (as i did with my son) but that might lack the "cool" factor. it all depends on the kid, his interests and taste in music. good luck!

The Prediction Professor says Trump will be impeached. Presuming he's found guilty and thrown out with the trash where he belongs, that would leave Pence as leader of the land. If this happens within the space of 2 years, he'd have a Repugnant House and Senate. It's reasonable to guess that they would prefer Pence, and could "accomplish" more.

Question to righties: Which scenario would you prefer?

I have lived in Poland for a long time. I may be picking up a citizenship application on my way home from work today. One thing holding me back is that the current government here is similarly rancid.  Unfortunately  it's happening in lots of places.

The more I look at it, it really comes down to New Hampshire or Nevada. Hillary seems pretty clearly ahead in every other state she needs to win. A twist ending with a Florida win would also be possible.

 

I can't wait for them to call this thing tomorrow night so I can stop worrying.

Or start worrying, depending on which way it goes.

Thanks, he really can.  He's done some bigger market things, but this was printed in the local paper. When I say local, I'm talking about the congressional district where the last time they didn't vote Republican for president the Republican they voted against was named Abraham Lincoln.  So I wonder what they'll do this time around, and how many friends my dad will have left in the neighbourhood when all this is over.

 Looks like he hasn't been saying "bigly" after all.

In other news, my dear old dad penned this.

I voted absentee last week. I'm anxious for this to be in the past.

I thought he switched it to "big league".  Like I heard him saying "bigly" in the primaries, but then one of his advisers/consultants told him not to use made up adverbs, but he couldn't so they just coached him to switch it to an established expression.

Actually, bigly is   a word.

I'm surprised the Onion hasn't yet run a story about Bill Cosby nominating Trump.

Also, didn't the orange monkey once say something along the lines of "i'll be so presidential you won't believe it, you'll be falling asleep" or some such B.S.?  Strange definition of presidential.

Last point for today: it's pretty sad that despite the fact that we as human beings know about confirmation bias, we don't do anything to avoid falling into the trap, but rather rush headlong into it with passion and fury. This is true of both sides, but more true of the Repugnacins. (Oops, did I just fall into it myself?)

What's the line, "joyfully miserable" or something like that? And Something about Jeff's public image and how that impacts his sense of identity?

Given that some of the lyrics we've already heard makes it sound like he's a bit tired of being under the rock-star microscope, I'd guess that "Just Say Goodbye" is his farewell song to his fans, that the tour will be a farewell tour and Wilco will slip into retirement.
