Considering there are shows there already I guess things are pretty far along, but won't know for a couple weeks when I get in there. This space has just gobs of potential.
LouieB
it consists of a few different spaces within the building. links hall is also moving to the space as well. i think there are a total of three stages/spaces. i could be wrong though. you going to van dyke parks lou?
-
they are busting ass to get constellation ready to go for these upcoming shows. the day after they closed on the building they were in there starting the build out.

I just found out that El Gato Negro on Irving Park closed. What is the city of Chicago becoming? I'll be in seclusion until further notice.
you live in the 'burbs, why do you care!!!!
-
there is also an article in tape op where, iirc, they talk about sbs recorded mostly with 57's. and sear sound was fantastic.
-
if i'm lucky, i'll be there this year. it all comes down to nine inch nails 2013 tour dates.
-
a few years ago rental companies were offering a months free rent, you may want to see if you can swing that and get it prorated over a year, that might help a little bit.

I forget what song that was for, I seem to recall it being Sumerteeth, I'll have to check the tape, but ya, '99 isn't what I'd call mid-90s either, although "asshole" may be a little harsh.
yep it was summerteeth! and she didn't mean it a nasty way.
-
Then he blasts me for having not bought a record since the early-90s, he may have a point, I think I've only bought cds since about that time ;^)
susan's response was "the late 90's asshole!"

City Suites is literally right around the corner from The Vic, and I've stayed there once. It is old but fairly nice, a little pricey IMO ($150+), and you are literally RIGHT next to the El, so you'll hear the trains rolling. But I don't think you can get closer to The Vic unless you do what Wilco Me just explained above.
The Vic is right on the Brown Line, so you don't have to stay close by.
Here's a link to LouieB's informative "Visiting Chicago" thread here at VC. http://viachicago.or...o-see-stay-etc/
as well as the red and purple line

THIS.
oh man, they have a horrible new one.
-
and it's now up on dime!!!!
-
oh i still do that, calling people that is. writing the setlist down on paper is a little less distracting then people who whip out there phone for every song imho.
-
i am a very happy camper
-
PS just want to thank the extremely wonderful photographer Richie as I cherish the set list I got-Laurie (borrowing this post)

Hi to great young fans standing behind me and my Wilco pals up on the rail-I am using Allison's post but this is Laurie. Met you and we got one of you up on the rail for a couple of songs. Hope to see you at the Vic! Amazing show. Hope you had a great time as we did.

I think they are all taping The National.
-
as it turns out there is a 1 hr. difference between Lexington time and Chicago time so i was able to sweat about getting my morning jacket tickets, then sweat about the jeff tickets.
this should be a fantastic weekend!
so i will get to see you this year!!!!!!
-
the only issue i had with the video was that there was no close ups of the dessner lads
-
That's funny, I thought the Tweedy set was a *perfect* way to end the weekend, a cloudy, lazy summer Sunday afternoon with Tweedy, all his acoustic guitars and friends. I felt perfect walking out of there. Not that I had "had enough" by any means, but I remember feeling quite nice.
this
it should be a good time!

does anyone have or have any info on their self-titled album. i assume it's quite a rarity, but i'm curious about it.
