  1. This on top of the previously announced Wilco headline set (Saturday evening) and sets by The Nels Cline Singers, On Fillmore, The Autumn Defense, and Pronto.

I hope Wilco are playing more than just Saturday night.

  2. That would have been me and another fine person here on the board. Glad it's working out for you. thumbup.gif

We've yet to lock in our lodging but I fully expect to get a nice (3 or 4 star) hotel (outside Albany NY) about an hour away from North Adams in the $40-50 a night range, via Priceline of course.

i'm still waiting, then i'll be trying to do the same! thank you for mentioning this earlier. that forum mentioned has proved to be super informative.

  3. what are the odds of tweedy solo set?

to reply to my own post, if anyone is wondering: during the boston show Tweedy said something along the lines of: "all of our side projects are going to play." So, I'm hoping that by use of "our" he is implying that he too will be playing a set that is not formally a Wilco set?

Maybe i should just stop thinking about this... :blush

  4. better bidding gives you an idea of what hotels come up at what prices on priceline (and hotwire too). a great reference tool, and it's constantly updated by real people getting real deals.

there are tons of hotels in the troy and albany ny areas and i don't mind driving an hour in that part of the country. good luck to you!

I'm going to put a bid in, thought it feels a bit early, seems like I'm most likely to get a deal closer to the date. I'm a bit uneasy about putting in credit card info without being able to see what I'm buying first... we'll see, i've only begun checking this out. thanks for the heads up, looks like it is worth checking out. let us know how it works out for you :)

  5. shhhh....you're giving out my secrets! eyebrow.gif just kidding thumbup.gif

    and welcome to the board!

in the last two years i have made out very well all over the country with priceline and betterbidding.

got my tix yesterday and we plan to play it by ear on the lodging, but are prepared to commute from the albany area if necessary to save money. i'm thinking we should be able to get a 3 or 4 star hotel in or near albany for $50 a night or less.

is this really possible? I'll have to check out betterbidding! please do share your secrets! as a poor college student, $50 a night sounds fantastic :)

  6. By "fine" I meant - you're just sleeping there right? Lot's of Berkshires reviews are from people who come to see the paintings at the Clark Art Institute. Their expectations are a bit high.

not sure i consider a clean bathroom, clean sheets, and owners who don't go into your room when you leave luxuries. appreciate the suggestion, i'm going to keep looking though ;)

  7. The Redwood is fine - very basic but yes, the Berkshires in August ain't cheap.

"fine" isn't the way it is described when I googled it. in fact, the reviews are overwhelmingly terrible... check it out:

you pay for what you get...

  8. just thinking here-- but, if i were to stay only 2 nights, would it be better to do sat/sun opposed to fri/sat? Did Wilco announce that the 2 shows they are playing are sat/sun or did I just imagine that? Just trying to figure out the cheapest way to go about attending this. Going to buy tix tomorrow regardless ;)

  9. there were tapers at both nights, and i gave a card to a guy in boston (who i believe said he'd be @ the concord show as well, though i didn't see him) so hopefully these will surface soon enough.

tinnitus, when can we expect to see some photos?! :yes was just looking around your site, it's amazing a) how many of the same shows we've been to and B ) how eclectic that list is! i've saved a ticket stub from every show i've been to-- i can only hope that one day i will have attended as many shows as you have there.
