Then later, going to shows at coffeehouse, church, basement, living room scene was driving me nutso with can't-sit-still, can't-shut-up, forgot-to-turn-off-the-phonies. Great thread, imo, since I'll be at my firstest Wilco show this Friday nite. Having heard AUD's of the last 18-months, one thought about seeing them was that I'd be a misfit in such a chatty crowd. I'd like a good time but all the hooters, yellers, look-at-me uber-chicness of today's attendees is not appealing. But, this behavior has been going on for decades. The dude at Dead shows who did the throat-yelling (ai-ai-ai), folks at Garcia's solo concert with endless-chatter. Who knows what these folks get out of the musical experience. Located maybe 8-blocks from the theatre, not even a 15-minute walk and Montclair is a pleasant, walkable town. the map link should show both spots on it. View Larger Map

Montclair is on the MidTown Direct commuter line, plus bus service to/from NYC is a well-worn path. With just a bit of searching the NJTransit schedule and the bus services, you should fine what times they're running. It's going home later, on a weekend nite that gets weird with the timing of service. The Pine Street station is the closest in proximity to the theatre, maybe a 4-block radius. Buses prolly stop right at that corner of Bloomfield Ave. OK, maybe the closest train station is called BAY ST.(not Pine St. even though that's the block it's on:)

Going to the Wellmont in Montclair, NJ to see my 1st Wilco show, (after turning down at least 2-other ticketed invites over the past 18-months.) And hearing every available AUD-recording from the (really good) Summer tour and parts of Europe and Fall swing, I had those same set lists thoughts broached by others. From postings and reviews, they've been killin' it, each and every show during this Spring/Summer tour. Of all the current Wilco tour AUD's I've checked out, this one sounds the BEST, imo. A real solid field recording that comes across with good presence and sound. Well done.
