I had just convinced myself that it was time to go to sleep and then they come back and it's acoustic. Now I can't leave for awhile.
-
So I am simultaneously watching Leno and he just had Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs on, which was hysterical and I left the sound on for the musical guest, some guy named Josh Kelly. It is absolutely awful. I mean this is world class shitty.
-
Nice to see the guys come out and say something. I kinda though they might just play the show and that would be it. Hopefully they won't wait to long before they come back, I plan on staying up late again tomorrow night to watch the returns roll in.
-
it does, but its better then doing something else knowing the dead are playing plus they just played a few notes of mississippi half step which hopeuflly is coming soon!
Very true. I had forgotten how much I love Mississippi Half Step, just a great chorus.

Yeah, I am arguing with my self about whether it is the stream or the band. And right now the band is winning. The guitar play is great, but Phil's vocals aren't that great and the drumming is driving me crazy. I have always loved the Europe 72 stuff with just Kreutzman and Mickey is driving me crazy tonight. But, I am still enjoying it.

Things are working nicely here. One question though, where can I get the "Wave that Flag, Dead Heads for Obama" Shirt that Phil and Mickey are sporting? Nice combo of the Obama and Steal Your Face logos.
-
Just got video of a message from Barack, but no sound.
-
Thanks, I really want to catch this, but work awaits in the morning.
-
Ignore my post, tried this and I am getting the iclip logo. Anybody have any guesses about when the guys are going on?
-
Is this still working for people? I keep trying to head to iclips and the direct link to the show, but both are failing to open.
-
20,000 people at the rally in Minneapolis for Obama, Golden Smog opened the show. I found a blog with a few photos. Here ya' go.

First time the Dead have played together since 2004. Watch it on the net Monday night.

During Misunderstood Jeff may have said "nothing" 30+ times, it seemed to go on for awhile and I lost track.
40 it was hard to keep up after a while. Oh and I think you were standing right next to my wife and I.

Great show! Got there at 7:15 and there were already 200-300 people waiting outside. Just as we were taking our place at the back of the line some lovely people came by and informed us that anyone with blue tickets, from the pre-order, could go to the front of the line and go on in!!! Which meant I got to stand right in front of Pat and John for probably the best Wilco show I have seen.
I was surprised to see show much Being There, it all sounded great. But I did about a triple take when John handed Jeff the bass and picked up an acoustic guitar. Just That Simple was fantastic and I commented to my wife that I wondered if they were doing it because John's family was here. And sure enough after the song Jeff said that it was for John's dad. Thank you John's dad.
Anyway, great show. During Hate it Here, Pat busted out a telephone on the checked the phone lines, much laughter all around. May have some photos later, have to see if any are decent.
Oh and the first song of the second encore was going to be Box Full of Letters according to the setlist, but the played Heavy Metal Drummer.

Three hours to Austin from Dallas, straight down I-35.

I answered my own question. Here is some info on the Palladium Ballroom. Basically they took Giley's, the huge honky-tonk and made it smaller and turned the large part of the venue into the Palladium. General admission, holds about 2800, unfortunately no chicken wire.
-
Well, Dallas is not quite Fort Worth, but I am not going to complain. Anybody no anything about the Palladium Ballroom?
And I would definitely go to the show even with the eight month pregnant wife, what a great story if she goes into labor during the show. You can easily do the drive back to Fort Worth in twenty minutes if you try and if worse comes to worse I'm sure one of the guys in the band is talented enough to deliver a baby.

Thank you Analogman! Found it at the last one, purelivegigs. I had already checked etree and dimeadozen, but wasn't familiar with the others. Sound quality doesn't seem to be superb, but I at least want to give it a listen.
Thanks again,
Kent

Anyone no if the Bonnaroo Super Jam featuring John Paul Jones, Ben Harper and ?uestlove was recorded, video or audio? I have seen almost every other set, but all I can find of the Super Jam is a brief video on the You Tube.
Based on what they played I would love to hear it.
Thanks.

I have always wanted a Tweedy solo cover of Dylan's "Country Pie" into "Pecan Pie"

And a good time to be in, the acoustic stuff sounds much better. Now, if they will just play Cassidy!
