  1. The Montevideo Uruguay show has disappeared from the wilcoworld page, and word from the local venue company is that the show is canceled.

    This is incredibly bad news.

Yes :( The producer said the show was almost sold out and claimed logistical problems

"The American agency that handles the agenda of the artist, in charge of this tour and to which we bought the show, High Road Touring, and the management of the own band (Wilco), have been completely negligent and useless at the time Unforeseen measuring imponderables and to make decisions for them.

Both the local production of the show, Gaucho, as the venue where he was going to carry out the concert, LA Trastienda Club Montevideo, they don't have any kind of responsibility in this decision."

I was going to attend this show as well. It's all paid and I can't change to Chile now. :/
    Very upset :(

Just hope it doesn't affect the rest of the tour!
  2. I'm super happy. REALLY. But it's not easy being a Brazilian fan:
The country is in a major crisis (and chaos, I think you heard about impeachment) but the VIP ticket costs (with fees) R$ 575/$161. The GA ticket is R$342/$96.  :blink
I know it's not the band's fault and it's super expensive to bring them, especially now with the dollar high... but I'm still shocked.
I have no idea if I can go to another show of the SA tour :/ (But I will try!!!!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Let me know if one of you come to see them here (I hope I haven't discouraged anyone ;))
  3. In light of Courtney Barnett's recent appearance at the Loft and photo of CB3 with Tweedy, I sure am hoping for a CB3 appearance at SS'17.

  4.  I hope George Lucas doesn't sue me for this ;P I posted at Wilco's page timeline with the Is Wilco Coming to Brazil? page and they posted with MY NAME. How do they know? :P

  6. I heard rumors about Wilco trying to come to South America this year. An Argentine producer said that they will play in Buenos Aires in October with Iggy Pop.

Here we go again  :blink  :pray

Today, Pitchfork.tv presents a new episode of "Over/Under", the interview series in which artists evaluate a series of random topics, declaring if they're overrated or underrated. In this episode, Wilco rate the '90s ("Every era is underrated, and the idea of decades is overrated"), mouthwash ("It's just something they've convinced people to buy, like soap and toilet paper... just kidding"), and fortune cookies ("I can tell you very strongly that they're bullshit, because I got one last time we were at the Grammys that said, 'You will be given an award today'"). Watch their assessments below.

  8. On Stage and Up Close

    Glenn Kotche

    by Miguel Monroy

Glenn Kotche has one of the most distinctive setups in the industry, with more sticks and homemade percussion trinkets than we could list fully. We caught up with Kotche during a Wilco show at Louisville’s Iroquois Amphitheater, where he was using a Sonor ProLite drumset. “It’s a beautiful maple kit, kind of based after the old vintage drums with thin maple shells and a little reinforced hoop,” he says. “They sound beautiful. Nice and dark, just the way I like them, but they are able to project in these outdoor amphitheaters with no problem.”

For a full list of gear shown in the video below, check out the complete article in the November 2015 issue, which is available here.

And there is a video with him showing what he was using on this tour >> http://www.moderndrummer.com/site/2015/09/video-tour-gearing-up-with-wilcos-glenn-kotche/
