  1. http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2007/04/breaking_wilco_.html I Am Trying To Make You Buy Cute Crap Apr 16, 2007, 01:31 PM | by Nisha Gopalan Categories: Music Wilco_l Breaking: Wilco singer- songwriter Jeff Tweedy may be a geek. Tweedy recently bought an armful of UNKL Brand toys, which inspired the company to create a set of two-inch Wilco figures. (We
  2. First time seeing Tweedy solo. Perhaps not the best concert ever--but, without a doubt, the best concert experience ever. Seems to me that the crowd struck a perfect balance between being quiet/respectful and engaging JT just enough to keep the show interesting (and to give him material for banter). Charlottesville has proven itself to be a great tour-closer twice in one year. (See also the April 23, 2006, show.) So, let's hope that Charlottesville is a stop on every Wilco/Tweedy tour from now on. . .
  3. Received my tix yesterday (1/17).
  4. If you're seeing images of actual tickets online and you have not yet received your tix in the mail--don't sweat it yet. Chances are the images are of tix bought at the box office or some other physical venue (e.g., Plan 9 records). I ordered my tix online, and I have not yet received them in the mail, either. And I live in Charlottesville; tix will presumably be mailed from MusicToday hq, just outside Charlottesville.
  5. Also from Southworth, this Barney Kessel reminds me of Tweedy's.
  6. Now, that's just cruel. I'm salivating and crying at the same time. I will add this Sheraton to the list of things I will buy when I win the lottery. . .
  7. Good to have a positive review from someone who owns a Sheraton II. Thanks a lot. Trying to learn more about the Guild Polara. And I came across a decent Telecaster in a pawn shop yesterday. . .
  8. Thanks very much for the tips. I will broaden my search to include the Guilds. Half the fun is in the hunt, I guess.
  9. I'm trying to start playing guitar again--and I am wasting way too much time thinking about a new guitar. I'm hoping that some of you might have some general advice about these two different options: 1. Hagstroms: Frankly, I had never heard of these until a few weeks ago and was surprised to see that it was a Hagstrom Viking that Elvis played during his 1968 comeback special. Any opinions about the Viking--and/or the F200/F300? Seems to me that, rather than an F200 or F300, I should just bite the bullet and get a Gibson SG. . . 2. Epiphone Sheraton: I own an Epiphone Dot. Was in a pawn
  10. I am a Charlottesville resident, although I was not born here, and I agree with many of the posts above lauding the show and the crowd. My, how things have changed since Wilco last played here in 1997, at Trax (Jeff diving into the crowd during
