  1. Thanks a lot for the suggestions so far.

Tinnitius, I've looked at a lot of your work via this forum and you do great stuff!

Basically I'm getting ready to take a photo shoot of my own and I'm looking for shots to use as models/starting points for it. Right now it's just going to be promotional stuff, no live shots yet.

Feel free to keep 'em coming...

  2. Be sure to pick up a NFT (Not for tourists) New York City book. It's about 15 bucks and totally worth it - has an overview of all the different neighborhoods and will fit in your coat pocket.

Don't know how old you are but if you look hard enough you can find some pretty good deals in Alphabet City/Lower East Side, which are both hopping areas - especially at night.

  3. First off, A-man, I have not been past there recently, or not that I've noticed, anyway. It's close-ish to my house, but the other side of the park, so I don't pass it regularly.

If you're going to Napa without a car, I'd suggest this: http://winetrain.com Otherwise, you're in the city of Napa, but you don't get out to the wineries.

To get there, they recommend using the 511.org trip planner. It looks like your best bet would be the ferry from SF to Vallejo, then a local bus to downtown Napa (the whole trip will take 2+ hours). The ferry would be neat, but I'm guessing the bus wouldn't be quite as much fun. :) It will get you there, though.

Are you saying that the wine train operates only in Napa? And we would have to take the ferry etc. to get there and then pay the wine train fee?

    Thanks for the help.

  4. I am going to disagree. Modern Dylan is awesome sauce.

Time Out of Mind-"Love & Theft"-Modern Times is Dylan's best trifecta since Bringing It All Back Home-Highway 61 Revisited-Blonde On Blonde

While by no means bad, they are all mostly blues songs and in a way charlie patton tribute records. There is no way they deserve the 5 star raves rs gives them. Perhaps 3 1/2 stars, but not, imo, by any means excellent or even very good.

  5. In honor of the new record, which sounds like it could be badass:

Though not as culturally imporant, Elvis Costello is a better all-around songwrtiter than Bob Dylan.

Elvis Costello is the only elderstatesmen still putting out legimately very good/great music--the stones, dylan, the who, mccartney, etc. are getting rave reviews because of their past work/nostalgia.
