  1. We really don't want to have a really long flight, so we were thinking about one of the quieter Caribbean islands. If we decide that a long flight doesn't bother us, then we might consider Kauai. Since I've never been to either place, I was hoping somebody would have some suggestions/insights.

I can't speak of Hawaii, never been. However, I've been to the Caribbean dozens of times to dozens of islands. I've never vacationed there, though.

A close, quiet island is Harbour Island, Bahamas. Off the island of Eleuthera. It's been more than 7 years since I've been, so it may have grown up since. At the time, it was wonderfully quiet and simple. There's really nothing to do at all. Beach, swim, snorke, stroll, nap, etc. They do have horses on the island if that were of interest. It's more like an actual village than going to someplace like Nassau or whatever. The beaches are great and the water is fantastic.

If you want to go to an island that has a bunch to do and see, but still want to 'hide' and just stay put if you want, an excellent place to get married is Here. Near Negril, Jamaica. I spent 6 days there at a wedding and only really left the hotel twice. A great little hideaway right in the middle of a place with a lot to do. We did a day trip to some falls and such. Took a boat, etc. Near there are the hideous and overbearing Sandals type places. A nude party boat might come by screaming twice a day or so. Even so, I really liked this place. I have a million photos of a wedding there if you're interested. I've only shot three weddings, Jamaica, Italy, and India.

Again, I've been down in the Caribbean literally over 30 times. Been to most of the major destinations there. In my view, the choice comes down to what you want to do while there. Define that and let me know if you want input.

  2. I remember that not too long ago, a photographer guy here posted a link to his website with all these awesome pics of JT. They were really great and the guy said he would post more of them here in a couple weeks. Were anymore posted?

That was me, and Here they are.

I just happened to tune in tonight while internetting (can you say 'addicted'?). I'm actually on location in Europe. You won't believe my schedule this month, multiple locations in Europe, tomorrow Brazil, then South Africa, then India, then Singapore, then San Francisco, then East Coast US. Don't expect me to tune in anytime soon again. Though you never know, right now I'm uploading preview jpegs to client back in the States, I love my Mac and the internet ;)

I did mention I might post some more at some point, once again, don't hold breath. Maybe in a couple of months. I have tons more, though my plate is seriously full right now.

  3. Jeff looks so.... satisfied in these pictures. Incredible work; please share more :)

Thanks to all for the kind words. It was fun. I'm glad y'all feel I 'captured' Jeff. He was really easy to work with, I think he had fun. Lots of laughs.

Yeah, my assistant Dan worked out well. I didn't know him at all, called him from a list of assistants I had.

Let's see, there were a few questions up there... what do i shoot with? Canon DSLR. I favor very fast wides. Africa, what was that about? I went to shoot for a relief organization that is re-doing their whole 'look'. Basically, they just wanted beautiful shots of the people, not starving kids and whatnot. I was taken all over to various clinics and such. A week each in Rwanda and Ethiopia. There's some bad shit there. No running water and no electricity for the majority of people. Millions. We are seriously spoiled here. Even so, people seem happy, the kids are kids and act like kids everywhere, Ethiopian women are beautiful.

Some want more Tweedy pics. I've got tons more. Maybe I'll go in and do another edit and work a few up. Takes a lot of time though. Maybe in a month or so.

Again, thanks for the nice words. Gald you all like....

  4. like the one of him holding the guitar like...well, a smelly sock or something.) ;)

If you don't mind me asking, what part did you travel to?

    Thanks for the kind words..

He said 'I hold my guitar like a smelly diaper".

I went to Rwanda and Ethiopia on assignment. It was health care/humanitarian related. We went to a bunch of clinics and saw some serious shit. I try to focus on dignity and beauty rather than desperation. I also hiked into the jungle and saw these guys

  5. Well, I've not won any contests or anything. But I seem to find Wilco wherever I travel. Once, at the Taj Mahal, those guys came out of nowhere and bullied their way into my photo while I was trying to get a shot of me at that famous 'bench'.

Then there was the time I saw Jeff doing the Hummingbird on a remote beach in Ireland...

Oh, no photoshop of course ;)

    Pics Here
