  1. "Hate It Here" was played once way back in 2003 as "You're Really Gone" at a Tweedy solo show (5/16/03).

    lyrics to this version:

    I did the dishes

    I mow the lawn

    I try to stay busy

    But you're still gone

    I check the mail

    Now I watch the phone

    I talk to your mom

    She says you're not home

    You're really gone

    You're really gone

    I drive my car

    I walk around the block

    I ring your bell

  3. Christ, I hope they tour the U.S. between Austrailia and Europe! I'll be leaving for college soon, and (hopefully) I'll be headed to NYU, and we all know how likely an NY show is!

I live upstate in albany and they played at skidmore college which is about 3 hours or so from NYC, not too shabby...

thank you so much! I'm gonna download it when I get out of work. Is there a website that lists the singles from each album? I'd like to check out some more studio songs left off some of the albums.

By the way I picked up Grand Prix yesterday and its AMAZING. Thank you all for the suggestions.

  5. my favourite Fannies song is 'Hi-Fi' and I believe it was some obscure b-side from Grand Prix. I always though that a band who could just toss off a song like that were unnaturally talented.

    Great band.

    any chance in posting this!?!?!

  6. I got around to picking up "thirteen" awhile ago and I will agree that it is a very worthy follow up to "Bandwagonesque" getting just the right balance of distortion and sweet harmonies. Thank you for the reccomendation.

I was wondering if you can explain a bit more to me on some other albums. The first one, "A Catholic Education" is supposedly very darkier and "grungier" are the tunes catchy as well? Or had they not perfected there melodic sense yet that shows up on "Bandwagonesque"?

You guys also pointed out that "Grand Prix" was a particuarly strong album? How does this sound in contrast to "Thirteen"? Because the only song I've heard off it is "Neil Jung" and I think its amazing, possibly my second favorite Fanclub song of all time...how does the rest of the album compare to this?

thank you for all your help!!!

  7. Holy shit, I never thought some many people could pass judgement on an album they haven't heard...

you should have seen people on this dylan forum I go to, after 20 seconds of each song leaked for "modern times". hundreds of people ripped apart an album that they hadn't heard more than 2 mins collectivley of.

    I will never understand people.

  8. This is a lovely album. The production is great. The vocals are great. The songs are nice.

    It is a soulful album.

I think it's the music I am dissapointed with. It's a little too even.

was jeff's assement on sky blue sky being similliar to being there accurate?
