  1. look, being a fan of a bad baseball team, I'd like to say, try and except the fact that the Tigers are done.

Yanks are proving they have enough pitching to win the wild card.

Football is here, Hockey coming. Let's move on, and hope for good thngs during the Winter.

next year we'll get them, my friends.

    signed, a Reds fan

I'll never give up until the last game, however IF they don't make it, October won't be lonely with what looks to be a quite interesting NHL season this year. I'm anxious to see how Rafalski fits in with the puck control red wings.

  2. I'm trying to keep the faith as well. This series against Texas is going to be way more important than it should be. I'd peg the Tigers at about a 35% chance of making the playoffs at this point. The loss of Bonderman hurts, but I'll be watching til the end.

Agreed. The win last night just showed how big every game is nowadays. Thankfully Big Z is ok.

  3. my 13 year old has been interested in scary movies for a few years - I know it is the attraction of what she isn't supposed to watch. However, I have always given in on some movies like The Others and other movies that offer suspense, a little jump and stuff here and there.

In the last couple years I have gotten more and more lenient with what I let her watch - and sometimes she sees stuff at friends' houses, like The Exorcist (which I told her she could see once she got to high school).

However, these torture flicks are just beyond the pale for me......and she knows my disgust and issues with them. This, too, likely makes them more appealing to her. The other day she said she wanted to see Hostel II and I said - NO WAY - I then went on to say that I didn't have an issue with scary movies that have plot, suspense, even a little silliness like the old 80's horror flicks, etc - but these movies filled with abuse and torture just seemed unnecessary, mindless and disgusting. She then said, "well that's what I like mom!"

    :hmm

if done well movies like these can be bone chilling. but yes i'm in agreement with Hostel II sucking

that's it, had the idea in my head for years and always wanted a music tattoo to show it's in my blood, the notes are from misunderstood. it's a cool tattoo to look at and means a ton to me personally but most don't know it's true meaning.

  5. I think you're right and that it was John Mellencamp that said that, during an interview on All Things Considered on NPR. His song is now the official song for Chevy and apparently helped his album sales immensely compared to trying for radio play.

Which is a horrible horrible horrible song by the way

  6. Did a search on here and found nothing. So i hope this is new news for ya'll... Just found this after get my computer back and up from a crash and downloaded it from oink

It's 7 songs from what seem to be a soundcheck around the YHF time. raw versions of most of the stuff, them jamming, and also a foxy lady cover. There is also a great version of Were You In My Dreams.

I could host for those who don't have oink... the ones i have are mp3, but there is a flac seed up there too.
