As some of you may have known Grizzly Bear were set to play the Rialto on 6/18. This show was just cancelled and it was announced they'll be opening for Wilco at the Centennial Hall instead...
From the Rialto folks:
Hey Grizzly Bear fans and ticket buyers,
I'm contacting you with an update regarding the show... As you may have heard, The Rialto has confirmed Wilco at Centennial Hall on UA campus on Thursday, June 18th, the same night as Grizzly Bear. We knew that it would create a problematic conflict for fans of both bands (not to mention us), so the solution was quite obvious:
We have now confirmed Grizzly Bear as the opening act for the Wilco show at Centennial Hall.

Here's a link to a Folk/Americana top ten I did for my newspaper chain. I'd love it if you guys would take a look.
Awesome to see the Sera Cahoone record on your list. I can't believe how overlooked that record has been on "best ofs" this year!

Stay strong and keep your head up. I lost my Dad three years ago under similar circumstances and the pain has been replaced with great memories...

I realize music is subjective but how a music lover could not enjoy/worship this record is beyond me. It's an all-time classic.

Such a fantastic record. Shot to my "number 3 of the year" on the strength of only 6 of 9 songs...still looking for the other 3! I will not miss him at sxsw and continue to spy ebay for the self released version...

I always buy the pass and have never had any trouble...walk right into almost all the venues.

Mystik, Our compatibility is "high" so that bodes well. It's also nice to see a VCer who digs The Libs and Babyshambles as much as me!
I would recommend you give Destroyer a spin...Viva Dan Bejar!

"Paul Simonon steals the show musically with his trademark dubby bass swaying and thudding prominently through the dark proceedings."

Don't judge a book by the cover
Unless you cover just another
And blind acceptance is a sign
Of stupid fools who stand in line
