. I came here when the cancellation was announced because I assummed that the place would be full of dumbfounded fans just as surprised by Wilco as I was. I admit that I kept refining my logic on the foolish notion that someone would say, "Dude, that makes sense". That is messed up.

I think many people have agreed that it is very disappointing to have the show canceled. That's very reasonable to be upset about (Dude that makes sense). I think it's just been the fact that you've been responding over and over that has annoyed people.

Alright, people.

 

Actually, maybe you can take this over to the Charleston thread, and give me a good reason to shut that regurgitated nonsense down too.

For the record

I think this is Wilco's fault. And not in the way you may think. If Wilco treated their fans slighter worse, you know, decided to not put YHF out on the internet, didn't give us bonus tracks to download with about every release, didn't stream a bunch of their shows on their site, didn't have a very fan-friendly taping and trading policy, and didn't play well over 30 songs at most gigs, then there wouldn't be this mess. The expectations that Wilco have built (because of being about the most fan-friendly band in the world) have made their fans into selfish brats.

Seriously, these crazy Wilco fans expect everything to be perfect for them. Now of course it sucks to have your plans change, and I can understand being a bit upset, but chill out a bit. Lean on their history and realized that there is a bigger picture than just you.

C'mon. Either shit or get off the pot, man.

Yeah, geez, I can't believe how shitty Wilco always is to their fans, man they are just so consumer driven and really only tour for the bank that they'll make. It's amazing how they never give anything away for free, they always play super short shows and even then, they seem like they aren't really even into it. I really wish they were a "fans band."

I agree, although I wouldn't be disappointed to hear Impossible Germany either. I'll be at The Avett Brother's show on March 1st before SNL, so it'll be good to go home and see this!

There was some talk by Jeff and Co. right after SBS came out that they had material for another album ready, but that they were going to wait a while to put it out. I think I remember them saying something to the effect of "this one's going to be more experimental". Anyone else remember that?
