Haven't seen Wilco in over a year though...

I'd rather see Wilco without Bragg, doing the MA songs.

I'm thinking about bringing my daughter to see Wilco in Tulsa next month. She'll be 9, third grade. It would be her first concert.

 

Any thoughts? She would have earplugs of course. Good idea? Bad idea?

Bring her and make sure to point out how annoying so many of the fans are who yell out during the quiet parts of the show. That way she'll be trained at a young age to treat the music with respect. Shouting "New Madrid!" in between songs is fine though....

How about the Avett Brothers?

I really want to get one of those KAOS pad. I first saw it in then movie, and then learned Nels used it. I believe it's mainly a DJ instrument, but for guitar, I have heard you can do some crazy fucked up things, which interests me.

I have a Kaoss Pad and love it. I use it through midi keys and strings to do some jacked up stuff. Use preset 20 it's awesome.

I like the song minus the bells and really don't like the harmony.

But that had a lot to do with the orchestra drowning out other members of the band. It was really hard to hear any guitar, organ, or bass from where we were at (back of the pavillion).

Yeah, that's the only show I've seen there, so that really could be the case. Even during the encore though, the sound wasn't terricfic. The dancing guys acting out all the lyrics were pretty sweet though...

When I was there for the Decemberists show last week, we were at the very front of the lawn and it was ok. But there is a lot of lawn, if you are in the back, you can't see a thing. Also, we coudn't hear any bass at all there, which really sucked. Sounded like we were listening to the band through really crappy computer speakers, all hi-freqs.

I was planning on heading to Chicago tomorrow for the free Decemberists show in Grant Park, but I'm thinking twice now with the weather report. Was anyone else planning on going?
