LAMINATED CAT! (Or is it "Not for the Season" when played by Wilco?)
I considered it to be Laminated Cat - like the version Jeff and Glenn played when they toured together back in '06 or whenever. The "acoustic"/stripped down set blew me away. Full band Bob Dylan's Beard was amazing, as was Spiders. Even though this setlist was heavy on the new stuff, there were a lot of gems in there that I was thrilled to hear.
HOWEVER, the crowd was the worst I've seen at any Wilco show, with the possible exception of London (sorry Andrew and any other Brits who may have been there). Not to resurrect the sit vs. stand debate, but this was really lame. About 5 of us in my row stood for several songs but finally caved from the pressure of the people behind us. Only when Tweedy suggested we stand (about 2 hours too late, IMO) did they all get up. Sigh. It's WILCO, for crying out loud!
Anyway, I loved seeing them as usual. I wish I could've met up with some other VCers, though!

I thought the opening sequence was, in and of itself, Oscar-worthy. Not a wasted word in that scene, or the whole movie, IMO.
QFT. I think I've seen it 5 times now, and I like it more every time I watch it.

I do have to give credit to ElixirSue, because she was a mutual friend of ours on FB, I showed up on his page as someone he might know. and the rest went from there, .
Glad I could help in some small way!!

I'm so excited about this news. You have any more details, Kyle?
For the record, I love Neon Bible but Funeral is still my favorite.

Do you guys read his blog? Its seriously some of the consistently best writing on the internet, bar none. For example:
Admitting his alcoholism, and experiences in AA (one of the most powerful columns I've ever read)
His scathing, not so subtle flaming of Ben Lyons
Some hilarious, sobering, and beautifully written shit and you're not likely to hear it from a more genuine guy. I think the loss of his speech has given him a renewed voice in writing.
He's a pretty great twitterer, too.

Wendy, as to the question of the shows the answer is a resounding NO! The worst part of all is that the moment the Truckers came out on stage is literally the moment the heartattack began. I walked out of the venue, began violently vomitting and was in an ambulance 30 minutes later. I need a shirt that reads "I drove 8 hours to see the Drive By Truckers and all I got was a lousy heartattack."
At least we got to be front row in Charleston! I hope you're feeling better!

I had a similar experience. Saw them in Asheville on two separate occasions and both were exceptional. The first time I saw them in a small venue and they too opened with Wake Up. Seriously, it was one of the most awe-inspiring moments I have ever witnessed. Truly wonderful.
Were you at the Orange Peel in January '05? I don't remember what they opened with, but that was one of my favorite shows ever.

Holy shit. Many, many vibes to Greg!!

I received this artwork from John Titor

I also asked John about Too Far Apart (A few months after they played it almost at ever show not on the east coast!!!) in Brooklyn and he said they stopped playing it.
I hope that's not true; I love this line-up's version of Too Far Apart.

I vote for those tools who did the "I like girls who wear Abercrombie & Fitch" song, whatever it was called.

That's hilarious. Neil, despite the storyline, Avatar is worth seeing for the visuals alone. See it in 3D!

Don't sweat it....I am sure something good will happen. I tried to upgrade today but bad seats kept coming up...I dont think I saw tickets even as good as what you ended up with. If you want to pay they have row F on Stubhub for like $150 per. Keep watching and I bet they will come down in price.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'll try for some better ones as we get closer to the show date, but I'll be happy to be there even in row W.
I found your tickets at stubhub.
Section:MAIN FLOORRow:F 6TH. ROWPrice:$175.00 each Quantity: 2
Seller comments: 6 ROWS FROM STAGE !!!
Jaysus!
Alright, I'm going to go bang my head on the desk now.

Yeah, I learned a hard lesson. See you at the show!

Things is crazy! I started trying for Clearwater tickets at 11:58 AM, 2 minutes before noon (I was happy), and it said 'tickets are unavailable' over and over until 12:03 when I was able to purchase 2 in row hh. I let them go because at Ruth Eckerd, that isn't the pit. It's 2 rows from the back wall! I am happy with my 2 row k from the pre-sale. Brokers must be scarfing up the tix.
Unfortunately, work internet was down until 11:30 so no Durham for us. Only Clearwater and Atlanta. Pooh!
Yeah, I didn't want row HH at all, and that's all that kept coming up. I finally got 2 in row W - through calling the box office - but hopefully there'll be a ticket drop (or some other turn of events) between now and March.

I hate myself for giving up row F in Clearwater. We settled for row W just so we have SOMETHING, but hopefully we can get some better ones sometime before the show.
