  1. who are these pro-life people that you know that support all manner of horrible death? i would advise you to not form your opinion of the pro-life crowd based on them.
  2. yes. agreed. yes. ok, where are we going here? i'm against death in general. my point wasn't that society imposes way too many restrictions on individual choices (although i could be convinced of that, but that's another subject). my point was that our society routinely and validly imposes restrictions on individual choices and to defend abortion rights on the basis that it's wrong to restrict individual choices doesn't make sense to me.
  3. i would agree, but that seems to be the only defense that is ever offered.
  4. i'm not really out to change any minds. i just want to defend my position against some of the misrepresentations that are common here.
  5. i think "human by definition" pretty much sums it up. i don't know that i could put it any better than that.
  6. i believe that an unborn child is a person. i don't think a person should be aborted merely because it is unwanted. there's lots of people i would prefer to not have around (aforementioned rapists, etc), but society has decided that i do not have the right to exercise my individual choice to abort them. do you not see, that society imposes all kinds of restrictions on our individual choices?
  7. ooh, golly, my family is all fine and dandy! yay! fine and dandy. wow. nice. i'm going to frame this post and hang it up on my wall. good thing there's never any irony on the far left. boy, if there was, i could imagine it being quite hilarious too.
  8. my wife and i have two kids that we adopted after having been their foster parents for a year. we were also foster parents to four other kids whose family situations improved to the point where they were eventually returned to their birth families. i don't term my position the "moral high-ground". it's just what i think is right. i'll refrain from telling you what i think is "typical" about your post, but i think it's quite obvious. excellent article.
  9. i don't let what i might get called here affect my views.
  10. i'd have to hear the specifics of the programs or funding that you're talking about. i might support them. i might not.
  11. that's the constitutional way to address it. yes, and a constitutional amendment was enacted to abolish it. that's fine. that's your view. i would argue that you should support having your view either written into an amendment or left up to the state legislatures.
  12. everything that is outlawed still happens.
  13. i know. i don't defend the dick heads. i prefer it to killing them.
  14. i don't preach the gospel. agreed. likewise, it should not have moved to make it legal, least of all from the judicial branch.
  15. it's kind of a gray area for me, but i'm ok with abortion for rape victims. abortion on demand is what i find really objectionable. in any case, it's not the federal government's business.
  16. nobody wants to revoke your right to reproduce. some us think, however, that once you have done so, you should have to deal with the consequences.
  17. when a pro-life woman became a vice presidential candidate.
  18. ok, i'll go away and leave you guys to jack each other off in peace. cheers!
