I don't think I knew he had a solo album already. His voice doesn't seem like it would lend it self to folk.

Huh. I was wondering what Greg Graffin's name was doing on the Bowery bill. Is it any good? Does it sound like Bad Religion?

I saw Cars this weekend. I'm shocked at how low on the list so many of you rated it. I lost count of how many times I whispered "woooooow" at the insane animation. A great deal of the movie borderlines looking like live action. I can't believe how advanced Pixar has become with this new movie. I loved the story too, and the little things that only Pixar knows how to deliver well. Like the VW Beetles, and the Minnesota couple looking for the freeway locking their doors when Lightning tries to convince them he's being held prisoner. Those are the kinds of moments that I love about Pixar movies. But it all came down to the animation for me, and I was in awe. The next step for them will have to be animations that don't look like graphics at all, because they've come darn close already.
Oh, and that One Man Band short in the beginning was so fantastic that I would have been totally happy with just seeing that!

So if we're off the Bowie theme now...
My latest RSBF:
Damien Dempsey

Bowie 5-10 years ago is the hottest Bowie, IMO.

Back to the theme....

Love the Housemartins and based on those Beautiful South sample lyrics I think I need to check them out.

We saw X Men Sunday night. Visually awesome, story sucked ass. And I loved the first two.
Stellar review, eh?

Me too. RIP Stuart.

It's about a woman's near-death experience. Actually, it should be called a death experience, because she did actually die and came back to life. I haven't finished it yet, but so far so good. I am a believer in the afterlife.
I read that a long time ago. I really enjoyed it.

I've been reconnecting with my art books lately. I have so many of them and I never even look at them anymore. I'm a huge fan of Chuck Close and something I saw on TV last night reminded me that I had this Retrospective book. I fell in love all over again.

(Peel, your mix rocked, by the way. The sky marshal agreed, and apologized for macing me.)
Just saw this.

And I'm right behind him!

No, if i don't show up Saturday night with a present, an about-to-be-6-year-old in Albuquerque is going to be seriously pissed. I WILL restrain myself!
You could always bring him/her Uncle Bjorn's release papers. Fun for the whole family!
ction, just finished your mix. Best one out of you yet!

Well then I hope I don't anger you with mine. I can see it now:
CNN Breaking Story: Flight 999 has been diverted for emergency landing after a man inexplicably ripped out his ear buds and suckerpunched a flight attendent.

Aww, thanks. Leroy/bobbob/our friend in Miami deserves half the credit. I've listened to all of the mixes except for yours - which I will get to on the aeroplane tomorrow - and have liked them all. God, we rule.
Right, sorry.....great job to Leroy as well!!!
I hope you don't anger the people next to you on the plane with mine.

BTW, bjorn, your mix

FYI, the album title is right but the tracks load up out of order.
EDIT: Never mind. You're good.
