I live in Juneau (Southeast AK). My advice for anytime up around Anchorage is to spend it OUTSIDE of the city, if possible. If you're going to be around Anchorage, spend some time on the Kenai penninsula. Girdwood, Seward, and Homer are all great places to check out. Fairbanks has some fun hot springs that are fun to check out if you have the time. If you have to be in Anchorage, the Tony Knowles Costal trail is a nice trail. You run a good chance at a moose encounter and also some earthquake info. Also in Anchorage, check out the Alaska Native Heritage Center. It is a very interest
