  1. Go to that Loft zooming picture thing: http://www.wilcoweb.com/loft/gigapan.php

Have a look at the stashed tapes. One is labelled with "The Country Disappeared" / "Song For The Pidgeons". Not a big fan of pidgeons myself.

Just thought it was mildly amusing. It's like playing Myst or something looking around the loft on these pictures - only I've never played Myst.

Also went to have a look at the books / CDs. You can make out a few CDs.

Jesus Christ - Kidsmoke I can see The Mighty Boosh (middle stack of the 3, right up against the left hand side) - are you thinking what I'm thinking? Hope it tickled some fancies anyway. :pirate

Seem to have a few copies of Down With Wilco vinyle they couldn't shift. Perhaps they give them away to visitors :dontgetit

Bookshelf observations: "Literary St. Louis" - quite a thin book that (joke). "The Great Fire Of London" - walk past where it started every day.

Also, liked the Beatles White Album portraits on the mixer or whatever it is.

Bit surprised no Wilco nut has done an analysis of the pics before (or have they?). Just me then ...

Now back to watching Glastonbury on BBC 2 / 3 / 4 whilst standing 80 feet away from the TV in the garden with my feet in a bucket of pigsh*t for a touch of that real atmosphere. Saw The Low Anthem on Thursday - much better than anything I've seen there so far (but then the BBC have a habit of putting the same old stuff on - Kasabian etc. for God sake). Bruce will be on later though - he already made an appearance for one song by the gAslight Anthem.

    OK, I'm rambling. Ta ra.

Must admit I was too busy drooling over their outboard gear...

  2. A wilco first for me. I just saw a T.V. ad on I.F.C for the new wilco album

I also just saw it on comedy central... Not sure how I feel about this, It's mostly been my policy that if there is a tv ad for an album, it's probably not worth getting. Oh, well I already pre-ordered so theres no going back now.

  3. So I have been a Wilco fan living in central Illinois for many a year and the guys rarely come down here. The one time I spend any time in chicago is the tour they choose to completely neglect their home town! (I'm spending July in chicago doing an internship.)

Its totally my luck but :ohwell maybe I can make the listening party...

  4. Screen Door: Metaphors or Meteorology?

HAHA Indeed weather is a very prominent theme. Though, I just realized, screen doors are often refered to as weather doors... Hmmm I wonder if there is something more to that.

  5. So my prof. wants this essay to analyze a text and tie it to small town country life. It's for a very interesting class called Rurality in the American Imagination. Anyways, I thought Screen Door by Uncle Tupelo would be a great text to work with. So to get supplement my analysis, I wanted to hear some of your ideas and how you interpret specific parts of the song.

    Thanks!

    :worship

  6. My only critique is that all the shots save for one come from the stage (or right in front of it)... It seems a little claustaphobic. Anyways, all I'm hopin for are some shots from the audience's perspective so I can see everything all at once.

    That's my two cents.

However, I still think this DVD is totally going to rock!

  7. Does anyone know if the sound guys ever post their recordings? I was in section three (just in front of the sound board) and sat behind a really nice taping rig. I would love to get my hands on that particular recording.

p.s. Does anyone have any pics of those awesome poses at the end of the set?

  8. I would love to hear the new songs played acoustically. Sure One Wing might sound weird without that hook ... but Jeff can really belt it on that one! Wilco The Song maybe? :dribble

By the way, how does one go about requesting that song at a show?

    Audience member: THE WILCO SONG!!!

    Jeff: Which Wilco song?

    Audience member: WILCO THE SOOONG!!!

Jeff: You're gonna have to be more specific...

anyways, I think you see where this is going....
