Hey all,
It's been a while since I've been on here. But we have a family emergency and we cannot make the show. The seats for this show are Row 46, Seats 117-120. We are just asking for the tickets face value (minus fees) which at $55.50 a ticket comes out to $222 even. I am open to moving these tickets seperately or as a package deal. Please send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. These are electronic delivery tickets as well so as soon as I receive payment via Paypal these will be delivered to your email address. My family also owns a small business so if you are interested we can also do a transaction via credit card.
Thanks everyone,
Charlie
[update: Two tickets remaining for tomorrow's show! Asking $80 dollars for both of them. E-Tickets will be e-mailed as soon as payment is received. Seats 117-118 are currently available.]

I'd have to say this man right here.

Hey everyone,
I don't think that the government would even try to pass a bill outlawing organic farming, but rather I fear that when this department is created they will make a push to enforce hardcore regulations on herbs and homeopathy. While it is pathetic that the government doesn't make sure that these products are what they say they are and/or safe, it is not in the people's best interest to turn these products into over-the-counter prescriptions. First of all, the implications of doing this would make every herb that is widely available through gardening and/or wild-harvest illegal, and worst of all prevent these safe (there are a couple of herbs that are dangerous, aphedra is one of them, but it is also an amazing herb when used in a responsible manner. I.E. Not for weight loss) plants from being used. Every 10 years or so the government makes a push for this and the health food industry bucks back enough that it doesn't happen. My mom owns a health food store and so this is a major concern for my family, including myself, for both financial and health reasons.
The outlawing of organic farming for small businesses is already a concern though because of the enormous price that the government has put on allowing a farmer to consider their produce certified organic. I think the fee is something like two thousand dollars a year and that is a whole lot of money for any small farmer. I've worked on organic farms for the last 3 or 4 years and I can't imagine it being outlawed. I have watched organics over the last few years gain momentum that I never thought was possible for better or worse. There are too many yuppies, hippys, fundamentalists, and just normal folk out there supporting these products for the government to even consider making a run (other than increasing the certified organic price tag) at the health food industry.
Shanti,
Charlie

Hey everyone!
So, now that the tickets for Salt Lake City are sold out, I've found out that my family needs one more ticket so that my friend and my grandmother can both go to this show.
If anyone has an extra ticket PM me or e-mail me at gablemancer@gmail.com
Thanks!
Charlie

How did you know they played a song that someone requested?
Mr. Tweedy said so before both songs, and he said that only one person requested each.
-
Ok... I'm gonna try to reconstruct as much of the setlist as possible... now this is going to be laughable (don't even consider this to be near the correct order).
Remember the Mountain Bed
You are My Face
Company in My Back
I am Trying to Break Your Heart
Kamera
Side with the Seeds
A Shot in the Arm
(Now some songs that people requested... which only one of us wanted to hear XD)
That's Not the Issue
Magazine Called Sunset
(End request songs)
Too Far Apart
Theologians
Impossible Germany
California Stars
Jesus, Etc.
I'm the Man Who Loves You
Via Chicago
1st Encore
Heavy Metal Drummer
Walken
The Late Greats
Red-Eyed and Blue >
I Got You
2nd Encore
Hate It Here
Kingpin
I'm a Wheel
Now I believe that's all of the songs... out of order except for the 2nd encore. I still can't believe they played in Grand Junction. Hope everyone who's going to Colorado Springs has fun. Wilco's gonna rock your world.

Just got back from the show! It was one of the most amazing Wilco shows that I've ever seen. The crowd was wild and the band was tight. Highlights for me were That's not the Issue, Kamera, California Stars, and an epic Kingpin. I hope someone posts the set here... since I'm zapped and have no idea what happened. From the last time that I saw Wilco they seem like a completely different band. America's "Greatest Rock Band" indeed.
Hasta Pastas!
Charlie
I also saw a taper there. Said he'd post the show on etree or dimeadozen.

I just got back from the show today. I thought it was amazing. Especially the Relatively Clean Rivers cover. I mean, I screamed, dunno if I've ever done that at a concert. And TimRoss, I'd say there were about 200 people there. Which is still quite underwhelming. I had a great time. The cover of Easy Ride was most def my highlight from the night! (Were you up front Tim? I was the long haired hippy kid hah).

I was listening to my local community radio station (KVNF... I can go on with the call numbers too), and they were saying on Midday Edition (Our midday local news show) that Colorado is making a big push for paper only elections in the next presidential election. However, the cost of this could possibly be higher than the cost of having electronic voting machines because of the cost of certifying the machines to count the paper ballets. One interesting thing about this is also how the state has decided it doesn't care about whether the voters here know EXACTLY who won 15 minutes after the poll close, but would rather have accurate results that wouldn't cause a stolen vote here. Who else thinks that any other states will also go along with this now that Colorado is planning on using only paper ballots? I'm really excited that my state is going to be doing this, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks of it.
Hasta,
Charlie

w00t! Got tickets to the Denver show already!

Alright! CO Bands... a short list as I'm better at naming Chicago bands.
John Denver
String Cheese Incident
Yonder Mountain String Band
Hot Rise
Townes Van Zandt has a lot of history in my local area.
Opie Gone Bad
Leftover Salmon
If anyone else knows any Colorado bands I'd love to hear them... I'm not that knowledgeable except about Bluegrass, which I don't wanna talk about all day.
Also chicago people, you're forgetting Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Hey this is just a copy and paste off of an e-mail I sent out to my community radio station's (KVNF, check us out!) mailing list. For those of you who don't know (which is probably everybody) The Slideshow is just the name of the show that I do on KVNF. I think this whole discussion was based on the same article as this too, so enjoy.
Thought I'd just chime in on this discussion as this is the kind of thing that interests me greatly with music. I am one of those damn audiophiles who just can't seem to get enough of his record collection. I buy new records now on heavy Vinyl and love it, you can hear everything going on in the studio (even on my little bookshelf speakers!). Along with this I also bought myself a Zune 80gb for Christmas. And today on The Slideshow, I had a great deal of fun using my Zune to do the show on. I also have a great time using my Zune with the Car Adapter thing. The greatest thing for me about an MP3 player is the convience of not having to carry 50+ cds around everywhere I go, other than this the factors seem to go in favor of carry 50 cds around.
The last couple years I've used my PC as my main stereo, ripping all of my music onto it. I encode to 192kps MP3s and don't mind the quality on those that much at all. However, it does become a problem if I turn my speakers on the computer up (it's probably the speaker though..) and the sound gets funky. I've also been listening to the Zune on my stereo, it doesn't sound half bad really. But everytime I really stop and think about what I'm doing I feel ashamed of myself. I'm letting the world of portability get to me over the world of beautiful layered sounds of a record and a recording studio. But it also makes me think about what we're doing to music. The idea of portable music is wonderful, and I think people should really use it.
But what really is music is what an MP3 makes me think. Producers put a lot of working into making an album sound good, and people just go and ruin it with MP3s. But where is music really ruined?? Is it in the sound quality? Or is it in the way that people listen to it? If people actually listened to the music would it even matter? Wouldn't things just clear themselves up? So I think the real question at hand here is not whether to use MP3s or not, but whether to try and teach the newest generation how to really listen to and appreciate music. Being a member of this newest generation at 17, it's rather unsettling to be growing up and realizing that in 20 years people aren't even going to know how to listen to music. So, maybe as a community radio station we can help get more people (young and old) to try and really appreciate and listen to music. That way we can straighten out things like Britany Spears and MP3s in one action. I will give MP3s one thing though... they're better for the environment (So is Bittorrent though!).

I'd also suggest the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, other good inexpensive Fender amps are the Blues Jr. and The Toaster (Pro. JR). I'm trying to get my friend to sell my his hot rod deluxe, as my current amp isn't cutting it these days.
Yea, please go check out your local guitar store(s), and not guitar center (unless you want a gibson).

Does anyone know their policy if The Fillmore will let people under 16 in with their parent?

I know I'm late to the party, but thank god. It's all good with Rose because Rose could probably do anything she wanted, but I must say, Capaldi is just gonna be shooting straight from the hip as the Doctor. I'm really glad to hear he rebuffed that attempt....
