  1. tempted to drive the 12 hours to see this. $5.00. wow. that is a deal and a crime.
  2. ? I don't understand. I'm expressing my dislike for a band, you are stating you are still a fan of some very good bands and I am supposed to mention more for some reason... Why would I do that?
  3. Yeah, I know, but sometimes the overwhelming urge to comment on the pirate costumes, Soviet colours, Prep school uniforms, horrendous music and overuse of the thesaurus just gets the better of everyone. Besides, this is a message board. Sometimes disagreement and the intentional derailment of topics is fun and welcome, especially when it is one of those bands that y'all will be embarrassed to say you listened to in about 5 years.
  4. Y : A beaver dam across the border C: there is no need for the salty talk
  5. This just keeps getting better and better.
  6. Lord, I hate this band. I thought it impossible for this band to get more pretentious, yet here is the Crane Wife. Why-o-why would someone want to bring back the good ole days of ELP and Marillion? 'In the lowens nestled in the heat A briar cradle rocks its babe to sleep Its contents watched by secret acts and patagon in parallax A portal rumbling sounds below the deep' Gawk. They even have the 'everybody play one note in unison' with a big pause thing followed by a Wakeman organ solo. Lord, I hate this band.
  7. V cool. (I changed the origin of the band) I was listening to to the first one on a 2 hour drive last night. I can't believe the quality of the songs, the great ness of the delivery and I can't figure out which one I like better. She put her hand on his leg He put his hand on her breast He felt the blood in his wrist As he leaned into kiss her open lips In love they had a son Who died in the crib And in pain she swore as he passed That their first born son would be their last And as their love grew old She would not do as he told tore out his heart and his mind And she saw fit
  8. talking waits on another forum. I had to pull this out.
  9. I am soo getting into the 2003 'with Christopher Sandes featuring Pickles and Price'. Ethier is turning into one of my 'Can do no wrong' artists.
  10. one track from the new Be Good Tanyas - Hello Love. Reading that its got covers of 'For the Turnstiles' and 'When Doves Cry'. I don't really understand the need for covers when the track that I'm hearing is equally as good as those two songs. Seriously
  11. I am always 5 or so years too late with bands. I start really liking the Deadly Snakes, their latest cd gets nominated for a Polaris Prize, and then they break up: But the press release goes on with some hope... Now, I believe that Horsey Craze is a mixture of the Constantines and the Sadies doing Neil Young covers - but I may be wrong. Anyway - 2 really good shows to bid the old goodbye and ring in the new.
  12. Tom Waits at his most drunken, Nick Cave at his most murderous, or Greg Cartwright at his sweetest. It's streaming at Paper Bag Records and I would recommend jumping down to the 9th song - In With the Prim. It will start things off with a blast. http://paperbagrecords.com/catalogue/secondathallam Marketing blurb:
  13. Andre Ethier - Secondathallam album of the fucking year. Out with the hustlers Out with the crack pushers Out with the major players In with the Prim
  14. Seeing them tonight at the Calgary Folk fest!! Yahoo. Leslie Feist is opening - so at least she will be around too.
  15. Sounds like I got an early tour show - all reserved and uptight, while you got a later tour 'covers and really old shit' show. Dang. They need to get those new songs on CD and into my hot little hands. FYI - Trying to book Andre Ethier for something in late August. Hope it works out.
  16. another reason to be there: REIGNING SOUND w/ The A Bones at UNION POOL in Brooklyn phone: (718) 609-0484 @ 484 Union Ave, Brooklyn, NY on JULY 30th, 2006
