Both, left unchecked, quickly go out of control.

 

Unfortunately for the greedy and uncaring (anti-socialists) and the lazy and uncaring (anti-capitalists), the best way to keep each in check is to inject bits of its opposite and balance it. Thus, we have the Social Democracy.

 

Regardless, I'm sure that Tweedling has never benefited from any "Socialist" aspect of our government.

I grew up needing food stamps for groceries and district clinic for health care. However, I do believe you are correct when you categorized lazy with anti-capitalists. >See France

Nonetheless, it's not good to assume things about people you do not know. :cheers

if you talk total dollars and not a percentage per capita OR percentage of GNP. we also have one of the most stratified societies in terms of wealth.

 

statistics can be parsed to "prove" just about any point. i'm surprised steve colbert hasn't embraced them more.
