jdmel
So Im walking back from class today listenin to the album (if anyone goes to U of Iowa, im the weird guy whos been singing wilco on campus non stop for a week) but i realized it starts pretty hopefully, "maybe the sun will shine again...", and goes a lot of different ways before ending at On & On & On, which to me atleast, has a sense of morbid hopefullness that only wilco could really propose.. Also anyone else think that this album is a homerun because of on & on & on? Its the first time ive walked away from an album with the sense of a true powerful ending that just fits, wraps everything up, and is still an incredible song on its own... just thoughts, just thoughts.. I think "Reservations" does an excellent job on YHF and so does "In A Future Age" on Summerteeth before "Candy Floss" and the alternate version of "A Shot In The Arm" comes in. But I do love the overall theme of hope within "Sky Blue Sky."
Wilco LP #7
I haven't noticed that other guy on campus humming SBS lyrics all week. I do agree though, on and on and on is a brilliant closer. what better line to end the album than "you and i will try to make it better yet"
