honestgabe
Phonograph Article Anyone know about this band? I just read this article and had to check them out. Went to their website and their label site has two songs uploaded. I can hear the Wilco comparisions..only that the verse on the first song is a slight rip of "I'm The Man Who Loves You" and the riff in the second song reminds me of the one in "At Least Thats What You Said" But besides that it sounds pretty decent. I'll have to check out the rest of their stuff to really make a conclusion. But I don't think they've taken alt-country to new levels, heh. Its not any different than what the Beachwood Sparks did

The guy who sings in my band is really good friends with them and thinks they are "on the cusp" of making it. I don't know about that though.
Beltmann
A friend from Texas recommended this to me last month, and at this point I'd describe it as one of my favorite albums of the year (so far). I too noticed the similarity between "ITMWLY" and "In Your Mind" immediately, but I consider that a plus not a minus.
pnêyu
They actually opened for Wilco this fall I believe.Yup, in Latrobe, PA, and earlier in the year at one (maybe more?) of the Florida dates. I thought they were pretty darn good, though I agree that their influences are pretty clear.

deepseacatfish
Just listened through to this disc for the first time, had it sitting around for a while. It's pretty good, I don't know if they're "on the cusp" of making it...but it's got a lot of really interesting textures and solid writing, a strong follow up just might put them in that position.
