Guest tandylacker
My opinion is that you need to simmer down a little. I found this line funny, given your avatar.
spongebob
"butt hurt".....is that a play on words or a typo.also, how can someone be hurt about an album.it would seem to me that to be hurt by a record one would have had to had a hand in it's creation, a personal stake.(or i guess it could fall on you).but thats just me...spongebob
unposed_question
>>Download: 'Impossible Germany'; 'On and On and On' I would just like to note that one of the two download suggestions by the reviewer is 'Impossible Germany'.As I have opined elsewhere, I believe this will be the defining song of the album (though maybe not themost popular, as evidenced by the comments at VC). I think the reviewer nails it spot on when s/he writes: these 12 essays in excellence are up there with their very best. Indeed!
Moe_Syzlak
I like the album a lot (with the exception of the recommended On & On & On which I now skip every time), but I do feel it is somewhat of a step backwards for the band. I feel their influences are much more naked hence almost every review referring to things such as "Sticky Fingers-era country-soul" and "Beatles-esque blitz of stomping pianos." That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's also not what I was hoping for. I think SBS is an excellent album and has already received a lot of air time for me, but I can't agree that it is up there with their very best ... at least not for me. But that is why music is the best... no one person's tastes trump another's. Oh and re:Pfork... I get a lot of good music recs from them, but I find their reviews so Indier-Than-Thou (I need to credit my friend Ben for that line) that it borders on Onion-esque parody. I love it!
