Mr. Heartbreak
I know he's been mentioned on this board frequently in his capacity as guitarist with Ryan Adams & the Cardinals ... and he even got some props in the Underrated Songwriters thread back in the winter ... but I think this guy deserves his own thread. I've been listening to Basement Dreams obsessively, especially No One Said A Word, the title track, Delaware Station, and Wisest of the Wise. He's got a number of albums with great, great tracks: Fade Away Diamond Time, Sun Rises Here, and Anytime Tomorrow have some of my favorites on them. Anybody here see him live as a headliner, or have any recommendations on him? Seems he's popular mostly in Europe ...
cryptique
The one I listen to obsessively is Fade Away Diamond Time. He's Ryan's Nils Lofgren.

That's great stuff.Actually, he reminds me a bit of that early Jackson Browne stuff you just picked up.

I can't say I've picked out a favorite, but now that you mention it, "Bird In Hand" and "Cincinnati Motel" are really fecking good. I also love "Free to Go," and ... well, most of that record, actually.
Mr. Heartbreak
Jesus, I'm such a space cadet sometimes. I meant the Jackson Browne album you just commented on, that nettles picked up, in that other thread.Yeah, Free to Go is great, too. Most of that album is great, and all of it's good. Welsh Rich
I didn't know much about him or noticed him until I saw Ryan Adams perform an acoustic show and he was the support act. He's got some amazing songs and he's so open and honest as well, really doesn't hide anything from the audience.
