watch me fall
So Pat Robertson has endorsed Guiliani? WTF?
Atticus
So Pat Robertson has endorsed Guiliani? WTF? I saw that too is there a way to politely decline an endorsement I wonder?
MrRain422
Rudy needs the endorsement though, as he hasn't made many inroads with the religious right yet. Not sure why Robertson would endorse him though, other than to expose himself as only being interested in power and not principles. Rudy is so incompatible with the stuff Robertson preaches that I find this to be pretty hilarious.
watch me fall
Exactly, which is why I don't understand the endorsement. Since when has the religious right ever been tolerant of gays or supported abortion/choice.
bjorn_skurj
I think it's something like they think a President Rudy is better than a President Hillary. The religious right are not exactly a bunch of feminists.
MrRain422
But why would they rather have a President Rudy? What does he have to offer them?

bjorn_skurj
Yes. The religious right is fond of that particular part of the Bible where it says the man is the boss.
Duck-Billed Catechist
But why would they rather have a President Rudy? What does he have to offer them?Don't know if he's still this way, but in the nineties Robertson used to be one of those new world order kooks who thought the UN was going to take over the whole shebang about any moment. Russian tanks in Arizona, the US is sending tornados to defeat internal militias, blah blah blah. I'm sure he sees Hillary as part of said order and has a vague conception of her as communist/anti-christ/whatever. You support the best chance to beat her if you think all that stuff. watch me fall
It's amazing to me that they are so scared of the possiblity that a woman could become president that they would endorse someone like Guiliani. Wonder if Billy Graham approves. And btw, I am in no way a Republican (and no offense to anyone who is). Just fascinated by this is all.

watch me fall
Billy Graham is an independent-minded Democrat. I don't know why he always gets thrown in with these other dudes. Probably because he's Southern, an evangelist and went to Bob Jones University. I would put him above the Falwells and Robertsons of the world, though. I just can't imagine he'd be pro abortion. Reni
Probably because he's Southern, an evangelist and went to Bob Jones University. well sort of.... After graduating from Sharon High School in May 1936, Graham attended Bob Jones College (now Bob Jones University), then located in Cleveland, Tennessee, for one semester but found it too legalistic in both coursework and rules.
