jff
It's pretty lame that you can complete the hand crank and rolling log portions of The Eliminator faster if you fall off than if you actually complete the task. There should be a penalty for falling off that's tougher than simply climbing out of the pit and moving on.

MrRain422
I actually said that exact thing to my girlfriend during the show last night. I think I recall that on the original series, they made you wait 10 or 15 seconds before climbing back up, but I may be imagining that.
alison the wilca
no, i think you are right. I thought i saw a guy with a stopwatch down in the pit, though, maybe he didn't know what to do!

I can't quite remember. I do know that the inclined conveyor belt on the old series didn't have ropes to help the contenders climb up.
alison the wilca
it also used to be at the beginning, from what I remember, so they were actually able to get up it.
cryptique
ESPN Classic has episodes of the original series on this evening at 7 and 10 (EST). The new show is on from 8 to 9. Now I just have to figure out what I'm doing tonight between 9 and 10.

It is a little harsh to put it at the end like that...everybody looked ready to pass out by then.
cryptique
The show is tolerable if you have the mute button ready for whenever Hogan, Ali, or a contestant speaks.
