Run-on sentence.

Your character has totally been defined, and I am sorry for you.

ps did I need a coma between "board and it?"

Like this "I love this board, it is so pretentious!"

Actually, you need to break it into two sentences. "I love this board. It is so pretentious!"

Or, alternately, you can use a colon, which links two separate but complete thoughts. "I love this board: it is so pretentious!"

We may want to consult with Ben to confirm the second usage though.

I'd go with a semi-colon.

The colon was not improper. It would be good if the writer wanted to emphasize the pretentiousness of this board.

I think the comma would be fine.

At least that is what Doug told me.

Doug is right in terms of general usage, but a semi-colon is more correct. At least it makes the squiggly green underline go away in Word.

I think a comma would only be correct if you added a conjunction:

I love this board, and it is so pretentious!

or

I love this board, but it is so pretentious!

Your dog needs to stop licking his balls and learn some grammar.

I could say the same about you, but I won't, because I simply don't care.

As for my character ... no, what's been "defined" is how I make my living.

So is this your cool way of saying you do care without wanting to seem like you care?

You make your living by correcting posts on a Wilco message board?
