Tweedy's Gurl
Ok, so I have this film I made last year...I uploaded it to youtube, myspace, etc. I only have one DVD copy that got scratched up by some douchebags at a party....and I managed to destroy the harddrive that contained the file. Yay! So here's my issue: I need the file back so I can make a DVD. Is there a way to recapture it from one of the sites that's hosting it, or am I completely out of luck? Analogman
Yes - but it's going to be a flash file - not the the good quality file you started out with. download helper
Tweedy's Gurl
groovy! actually, that's gonna make the video better than it originally was. this was from my stan brakhage phase....all about obscuring form to make it more pure...that sort of thing. Tweedy's Gurl
is there a way to make it something dvd friendly? that's my current concern.
cryptique
If you want to convert the .FLV to something else, and you have an hour or two to kill (it takes a long time), there's a free online utility that does a pretty good job: media-convert.com Basically, you upload your file, it converts it to your chosen output, then you download the converted file. The upload/conversion can take FOREVER, but the results are decent and it's free. I should probably mention that this conversion will likely degrade the quality of the file even further, just so you know.
