Family Gardener
I have been one to comment on the spot on light effects during Wilco/Tweedy shows, and I've got to do it again... The lights accentuated the band in all ways last night (my only show thus far). The band was completely on fire at so many times and the light people showcased it all at all the right times and all the right ways. THis is not a Phish/Dead show, so there's no need to do the background continuous fluid light show thang, but the effect of splashing different color lights when the band is revved up or just spotlighting Jeff (or a different band member) adds such an incredible enhancement to the whole experience. ALSO adding to the experience, seeing Jeff so comfortable on stage and seeming to totally be in to it and enjoying himself -- a skip in his step, a glint in his eye. along with the other bandmates -- hello Glenn, you rock! My b-friend, who I brought along & who is not a Wilco-fanatic, was supremely impressed by the show and what great entertainers the band are. SHe got so swooshed up into it that even she is desiring Wed nite tickets! Jeff, you really ARE a rock star. Trying to envision him as old as Willie and rockin out as WIllie Nelson still does on stage --even winkin at gals. Never mind the Jessica Simpson connection these days... oh I digress
alison the wilca
the lights during spiders the first night nearly blinded me dead, if there is such a thing. other than that, they've been very nice.

Dr. Steve Brule
You should check out Ryan the lighting guy's band Vee Dee. http://www.myspace.com/veedee Not at all Wilco like, but they should be the next biggest band in some tiny universe.
