  1. ditto -- worst flu/cold/illness/whatever this is in my adult years. whole weekend was full of spiked fevers and then sweating it all out only to spike again...then I developed this cough that my dr buddy thinks very well may be pneumonia...not to mention I have also been queasy. Yeah, yeah, yeah...all worth it -- I'll tow the co line.
  2. It's hard to come off the high from it all, isn't it? It was an escape from reality and the home-drum of regular routine -- going to grocery store, laundry, reporting to work, kid duties etc. But at least memory of it is still serving me well. Physical toll though hurts! Music is my savior, and I was maimed by rock and roll...
  3. hysterical, I am sitting at my desk at work cold and shivery, with a box of kleenex and my scarf still tightly wrapped around my neck.
  4. Wednesday night's show -- haunting, mesmirizing, electrifying, gratifying, outrageously mind-blowing. It could not be topped. You inspire me to strive for perfection in my own sphere of life. Every single last song could be commented on in so many different ways. But for me, Jeff is attaining Johnny Cash stature in my mind. A legend, a power. Blood of the Lambs, I felt like I was in a country western -- no clue what lyrics are in total to know if it even matches up -- but I felt like Christian Bale may walk out in a scene from 3:10 to Yuma. The energy in that room for I'm a Wheel, Casin
  5. Wow, they give and give and give... So maybe the 5 night run is not entirely selfless (hello, they have families to feed), but it is so apparent that they love to please their fans as best as they can. The enthusiasm and energy they have brought to the stage FIVE NIGHTS is pretty out of control. I only have been to one of the concerts, returning this eve, but I can tell from listening last night and reading the posts here, they have strived to do as much as they possible can in an evening (knowing that some people are not so lucky to go all 5 nights). What more can you ask for? Going for
  6. very led zepplin? super duper awesome -- nice work!
  7. I have been one to comment on the spot on light effects during Wilco/Tweedy shows, and I've got to do it again... The lights accentuated the band in all ways last night (my only show thus far). The band was completely on fire at so many times and the light people showcased it all at all the right times and all the right ways. THis is not a Phish/Dead show, so there's no need to do the background continuous fluid light show thang, but the effect of splashing different color lights when the band is revved up or just spotlighting Jeff (or a different band member) adds such an incredible enhanc
  8. I have seen Not for the Season as an encore opener at least two times, once at the Vic and once at Otto's with just Glenn on drums and both times AMAZING way to start out a set.
  9. woops, see that maybe you are only looking at wilco songs, not individual side projects, like loose fur etc?
  10. How about Golden Smog songs -- like All the Same to Me or Loose Fur -- Laminated Cat, Chinese Apple very organized system you have down -- I am sure many will appreciate as they try to speculate what will be played next!
  11. And all the falling leaves filling up shopping bags ... ok I'll stop, but it's hard...
  12. When you hear Magazine, do you think of the scene of Jeff and his son in the snowy Chicago streets and parks...That's what is forever emblazened in my mind b/c having lived in Chicago for my adult life and then having a kid in the city, there is something about that scene that conjures up exactly the feel of being in the city in the winter. The Chicago streets and parks and the feel of the uniqueness of the city is often reflected in the feel of their songs for me...anyone else? Laminated Cat -- When autumn comes you sit in your chair and you stare At the TV square Hiding in the deep end
  13. Speed Racer, great comments, great points made. Indeed, my best friend who is a totally cool soul is entirely unaffected by this Residency phenomenon. So you're right, those that are not Yom Kippur types, have no clue that this is going on and that missing one of these shows is like being stabbed in the heart for some. For a fan though, something about the 5 nights causes a feverish pitch and you just assume that everyone else feels the same way and you can't stand to be left out for fear of missing the greatest thing on earth. But for others it's just another day. As I try to ration
