  1. 1. Do I have the right be be annoyed when the person in front of me on a plane decides to recline their seat as far back as it can go?

    • Yes, that's inconsiderate behaviour.

    • No. The seat is designed to recline that far, quit being a baby.

So, the flight attendants let everyone recline when you were sitting on the runway? I didn't think that was allowed. I'm not sure why, though.

it evidently creates havoc on the planes electronics similar to me utilizing my iPod during take-off. ;)

A quick aside...what about people who don't pay for their child to have a seat, and hold them in their lap instead? I sat next to a woman who had a kid (not a baby, but a kid...maybe 2 years old) in her lap for a 4 hour flight. Surprisingly, the kid couldn't get comfortable sitting on his mom's lap for 4 hours and spend the entire flight kicking me. About 30 minutes in, I prayed for the person in front of me to recline their seat until I died.

Lammy - I think the chances of you sitting in front of me on a flight are probably pretty slim. However, if some food comes flying, I'll come up and introduce myself and maybe we can enjoy a $5 can of Budweiser or something. It's a small world.

And I still find it a bid inconsiderate....although I fully recognize people's right to do so.

:thumbup

Truth be told, if the person behind me is tall I'll generally recline just enough to get out of the 90-degree angle. Otherwise, I usually recline more. I've also gone back to incline when the person behind me has asked (only happened twice, but still).

Flying blows for everyone, kids too.

Putting the tray tables down on the runway also sends out distorting radio frequencies.

Now that should simply not be allowed. When I own my own airline I'll ban that practice.

Do what we all do: recline your own seat, use your feet as a clamp, and haul it up like those claw machines at the arcade! You might get lucky and pull up a Mr. T doll.

Ha! I do that too!

Yeah, the premium section is the bonus I get for being a frequent flyer, and I'm a United frequent flyer because San Francisco is a big hub for them, so more often than not it's as easy and cheap to fly with them.

I am with Ction here. I only recline when there is no one behind me. If it is a smaller person or a kid behind me, I might ask if they mind. When drinks come, it is polite to put your seat back up so they are not breathing in your hair while trying to enjoy a beverage.

I feel this should only be allowed for true infants (less than 1). If the kid's walking, he/she should have his own seat. If you can't afford it, drive.
