fellinlovewithadrummer
when was the last time a new show was uploaded here? i have optimum online and cant seed after i download and eventually get a negative rating. Optimum online prevents uploading. GRR. i need new shows but not sure where to go. dimeadozen i am stuck at .25 negative rating and have no idea how to chnage it without opening shows and seeding them. however i cant download any to even seed them. sigh
gogo
Well, according to the site: "New shows are added 2-3 times/week; over 80 GB currently hosted. This page was last updated on January 24, 2008." Those aren't all Wilco of course, but it's still an amazing service that he's providing. Have you tried going to the trading section and asking for B&Ps? It's not the immediate gratification of downloading, obviously, but it's a great way to get shows.
owl
The live downloads page isn't updated as regularly as the main page. If you want to see items that have been posted since the live-downloads page was updated in late Jan., try browsing backwards through the main page. I haven't posted all week because my far away fiance was visiting me. I'm going to resume posting Thurs. or Fri.

Hint: Led Zeppelin torrents go over in a big way. Although I understand you want some Wilco shows, you have to understand that it takes a lot work to do what we are trying to do. I am not about pats on the back or prestige or any of that sort of deal - but I will tell you that I have been working on this for several months, not to mention the time The Owl puts into working on this project. And when I say working on it, I mean every day. General statement - not directed to you alone: When the various Wilco/Uncle Tupelo/Jeff Tweedy shows do get up there - I would hope that the people who do grab the shows from The Owl and The Bear, will consider making a donation to help fund what he is providing. If anyone feels they need to thank me for my efforts - they can do so by not posting mp3s of the shows that come from The Owl and The Bear on Via Chicago. If you must do such a thing, do it privately.

Just trying to be helpful........

Some hippies are Wilco fans......Plus they have a pretty good selection of Wilco and Jeff Tweedy shows that are easy to access for the non-torrent folks like me...... chinarider
I 1/2 read this thread, but if you're looking for killer shows, you might want to check out: http://www.thetradersden.org/ And, of course, bt.etree...
altrock
Here's the search page of the sugarmegs site.........there are plenty to choose from to get started if you are not able to access the bit torrent sites......By the way, I know you are joking.......The site is full of Greatful Dead stuff but the past year or so the selection has grown way beyond GD.......Great selection of Neil Young stuff......Enjoy, all you non torrent members..... http://riptorn.dyndns.org/smsearch/default.aspx
Analogman
Last time I checked, there were exactly 5 Wilco shows up The Trader's Den. Out of the 183 I currently have listed, 3 or 4 are from The Trader's Den - all dead seeds. There are also a few up at Tape City and Pure Live Gigs (no Wilco shows upped since November 2007). If someone wants to regularly check torrent sites for recent active Wilco shows, I would suggest looking at dime a dozen or bt.etree. Although, I don't mess with Wilco dvd torrents, I recall that several of them are up: www.hungercity.org.

Just trying to be helpful........ The Wilco archive will be somewhat different from http://owlandbear.com proper (which is a blog meant to preserve a variety of quality shows that would eventually disappear when torrent seeders go away). I know that the Wilco archive is going to be great, but I don't expect to have shows online as rapidly as they appear on torrent sites, and I'm not trying to stop people from using other resources. After the project goes live (beginning this week), it could easily take up 60% of my available bandwidth. And just in general, don't jump on Aman (and I'm not accusing anyone). He's been instrumental in creating what will be a lasting and popular resource for Wilco fans.
Scott Gyrrr
Sounds awesome Owl. looking forward to it. Now I just got to figure out the whole torrent thing.
owl
The upside is that anything on Owl&Bear requires 0% knowledge of torrents, not that BT is that hard to learn.
fellinlovewithadrummer
wow lots of responses. thanks. im sorry if anyone took what i wrote the wrong way. my question is i guess when was the last wilco or tweedy show added to the owl? heads or tails i agree its about spreading the music and not where you get it from. i NEVER make anyone pay anything when i share my music that i have downloaded. its just about spreading the wealth. wilco is at least smart enough to embrace what music has become vs running from it...
