JerseyMike
"Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution" is "Sting Me", "Believer" is "Nebakanzer" and 'Josephine" is "A Girl From A Pawnshop", and Chris Robinson is still the cheesiest lyric writer in rock. That being said, "Warpaint" may be the best record that the Crowes have done since Three Snakes and One Charm. The production is nice and loose and suits the music well, and there are some descent songs on this record, especially "Locust Street", which IMO is the best Crowes song in some time. The highlights for me are the more acoustic and country based songs, while the one-riff blues tunes are a little overbearing and completely skipable, especially "Evergreen". If your a Crowes fan, definitely worth picking up, if your not, there are a few tracks worth getting. But if you are looking for something different or expansive in this new Crowes record, you will be dissapointed.

mjpuczko
i love it. i wouldn't call chris the cheesiest writer in rock. that's a bit dramatic. granted, the lyrics aren't the best, especially on warpaint.
