barnyard pimp
Now that we have a confirmed source for the tuning, I figured I'd give it a try. It's a general version but I think it's fairly accurate if you can let your mind go beyond dashes and digits on a computer screen and just try to adopt that Tweedy shake to every note I've tabbed. I think there may be a little more going on in the chords of the verse, when he's even playing, so comments or fixes would be appreciated. Here's a start, at least... "I'M THE MAN WHO LOVES YOU" by Wilco This is based on any given live version circa 2003-2008. This is Jeff's part only, tuned to Open E (low E B E G# B E high), with a capo at the 1st fret. This is an often debated issue but supposedly Jeff has confirmed this tuning for the live versions. This tab is written relative to the capo, so 3 is really the 4th fret on the guitar, if you ignorethe capo, but the 3rd fret if you consider the open strings 0. I used this version as a bit of a visual guide for folks, to indicate timepoints in the tabthat are relative to a performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO5xr9xrjjs I also referenced the Residency night 4 FM broadcast. I kind of cheaped out on the chords during the verse and chorus, so there's definitely roomto clean this up. Should be a good guide for the solo bits though! At the very end of the song he slides up the fretboard slowly while furiously tremolo picking between these notes: F--3---16--C--2---15--A----------F----------C----------F---------- Any thoughts? bobbob1313
Very good. The solo's a little tough to get down, but you got the basics pretty great, thanks a lot. I've been looking for this for a while.
