Kalle
May not be as exciting as some of the other one's you guys are picking up but about two weeks ago I got a Jose Ramirez R4. Such a beautiful guitar, plays like a dream, amazing balanced sound, just all around fine manufacturing. Here are some links and pictures so you can see it. http://www.lamusic.ca/default.asp?nCategor...4&PID=1393# http://www.promenademusic.co.uk/details.asp?sku=4300 http://www.sheehans.com/classical-guitars/ramirez/pcode=r4
anthony
Nice. All you guys are giving me GAS. Can anyone say 'economic guitar acqusition stimulus'?
jff
I decided to buy myself a new guitar for my birthday. I went through a period of coveting the Hagstrom Swede, but my local Hagstrom dealer doesn't carry that model. Somehow, I started liking Strats. I never really liked them all that much, but I think my recent (and ongoing) Richard Thompson craze/Fairport Convention Youtube addiciton swayed me. Anyway, I just wanted to get something fairly cheap to have as a backup for my Tele. I didn't have any luck with the used market, so I wound up doing what I said I'd never do again...Musician's Friend. I bought a Mexican made Fender Strat, which was a "Blem" (a scratch & dent item). The only scratches/dents on this guitar were some scratches on the protective sticker on the pickguard, which I peeled off. I got the guitar for $125 less than I would have payed at a music store. Here's what I got: Electron Blue Fender Standard Stratocaster. Rosewood fretboard. Plays great. Very slight overhang on the frets, but not to the point of being bothersome. Pickups are not the greatest, particularly the bridge pickup, but they sound ok. I'll probably upgrade the tuners and pickups at some point. As it is, it should serve its purpose as a backup very well.
Golden Smoghead
Congrats, guys! Good stuff. The best guitar in the world is the one that makes you smile when you start playing it, more power to ya.
FourStrongWinds
Really nice, I love simple, clean looking guitars, are you thinking of using it live?, I recently got myself a nylon string and I'm curious to know how people got about it
