lizish
Listening to the stream of a couple songs from the new record, Cheerleader. http://www.thenewodds.com/?page_id=11 Anybody with more knowledge of the band want weigh in with an opinion? Mine is that these guys are along the same lines as Sloan but funnier and I really love the power-pop that they seem to be putting out. 'Doug here. TheMaker
I think Craig Northey is one of the more underrated songwriters around. Good Weird Feeling is a top ten of the '90s record for me (it feels a bit dated now, but no more so than anything by Matthew Sweet or, say, the Posies), and I think the new New Odds is really solid after a couple listens. Haven't had the time to cozy up to it just yet, though!

GtrPlyr
I haven't listened to the Odds in ages, unless of course I count Craig Northey's "Corner Gas" theme song . The Odds always had a handful of good songs on each of their records. I'll have to look into this one.
lizish
oh, didn't know he wrote the Corner Gas theme, but now that you say it, it seems obvious
