remphish1
One of my goals is to visit all 50 states. The last one I have left is North Dakota. I have an airline credit and know I will be there before next year when the thing expires. My plan is to fly into Minneapolis spend a day or so then go to North Dakota....so this leads me to my next questions. What is to do there that is not a big distance from Minneapolis? I know the Badlands are there along with Roosvelt National Park but thats on the other side of the state. Anyone been to Fargo or Grand Forks? Any national parks or historic sites to see? I know Custard's last stand was somewhere in ND. Any good American Indian sites to visit?

Little Big Horn river is in Montana and Wyoming. The battlefields' national monument is in Montana. I've been there and it was less than exciting. Sorry. didn't drive through North Dakota on the trip.
Winston Legthigh
Badlands are in South Dakota, no? And Little Big Horn (site of Custer's Last Stand) is in Montana. I've been to North Dakota twice (both times to Fargo) - for a wedding, and for a funeral. You could tour some of the nuclear missle sites?

cryptique
No offense to any North Dakotans here, but I don't recall there being much of anything to see or do in that whole state. We passed through on our way west one summer ... it didn't leave much of an impression. South Dakota, on the other hand, has a few places worth checking out.

North Dakota has good competition with Nebraska... Hell, I even thought I was dead 'til I found out it was just that I was in Nebraska.
