These all relax me on some level musically; if you have a problem with a child hearing certain lyrical content, obviously a few songs like "She's a Jar" might be a little much. But these are all the ones I could think up that I find relaxing: Black EyeNew MadridPassenger SideDash 7Far Far AwayWhat's the World Got in StoreBlasting FondaThe Lonely 1California StarsAt My Window Sad & LonelyOne by OneAnother Man's Done GoneThe Unwelcomed GuestShe's a JarWe're Just FriendsHow to Fight LonelinessMy DarlingWhen You Wake Up Feeling OldIn a Future AgeRemember the Mountain BedSomeday Some Morning SometimeRadio CureJesus, EtcAshes of America FlagsReservationsCars Can't EscapeVenus Stopped the TrainWoodgrainBob Dylan's 49th BeardMore Like The MoonHell is ChromeMuzzle of BeesWishful ThinkingLess Than You Think (live w/out the drone)One True Vine
Pocahontas
That is wonderful that you made a mix tape for your youngin. When our children were little we made a mix tape of Jerry Garcia doing ballads, we named it Jerry lullaby's. Our children would be out like a light by the third song. austrya
My six year old falls asleep every night to a mix cd consisting of Guided by Voices, Pavement, Ben Lee, and a couple other bands that I can't think of off the top of my head. Usually he's asleep by the time the Ben Lee songs are done and that's when it gets turned off.
