So I saw Paul Simon open for AC/DC yesterday...

Odd music day for me yesterday. I saw Paul Simon speak at the Barnes and Nobel in Union Square yesterday. I also picked up a signed copy of his new lyrics book which is neat. Paul played some songs too along with the discuss including the first song He and Garfunkel wrote "The Girl for Me" Which he and Garfunkel made when he was 12! That was quite a treat and I am certian it probably is never played live. Later he talked about the beginings of Sound of Silence and how "Hello darkenss my old friend" was a joke line he wrote because he recorded the song in his parents bathroom with the lights off. He later talked about how he starts writting songs and the chords he likes. He played Slip Sliding Away and then a new song he was working on. He also talked about his early days and his tour in Denmark where his career talk a real turn.

I had to bolt a little early as he was still going an hour in and I bolted up to MSG to see AC/DC...probably the weirest back to back artist you can see in one night! Anyway AC/DC was sooooo loud! My ears are still ringing. It was a fun hard rock show. I was entertained and Angus is a charachter. It was a fun and unique night. Certianly NYC is one of the few places in the world where you can do these sorts of things in only one night!

Walking to the train after the Phil Lesh show last night I walked through the crowd emptying out of the AC/DC show. That crowd looked like they're still living in the early 1980s, with the big hair and skin-tight jeans tucked into big clunky boots - and that's just the guys. Pretty funny. There were a few guys dressed like Angus in the schoolboy outfit.

Maybe we crossed pathes yesterday...I was riding the train yesterday after the show. I myself didn't fit the average AC/DC concert goer wearing my kahkis and Jcrew shirt...rock on :stunned

Yikes..thats not fun. I have had a full beer spilled on me at a Bruins Vs Devils game in December when I was visiting my friend in Boston for a few days and that said beer was also spilled all over my only winter jacket which I had to wear for the next few days in the fridged New England outdoors...needless to say I smelled like a drunkard for a few days... :brow
