Oil Can Boyd
Show was great. I was curious as to which I Often Dream of Trains he would play. I am old enough that I bought it on vinyl when it came out but I also have the first CD reissue that has bonus songs added in (rather than tacked on) to the original track order. He was sort of the anti-Stop Making Sense in that he walked out to a tape of Sometimes I Wish I Was a Pretty Girl, slowed the tape down to a stop, and then began playing the album. He had two guys playing with him and, well, they played the album (although there were a couple of songs that they didn't play). And of course he filled in the space in between songs with his usual surrealist banter. They were filming it so perhaps it will be coming to a video store near you (or youtube). Oil Can Boyd
OCB - did you eat at Redbones?I have been there many many times over the years but did not eat there the other night. But the Somerville Theater now serves beer so it wasn't a total loss ...
barbkm
I saw this show in NYC -- and I agree it was great. I've seen Robyn a bunch of times -- solo and with the Venus 3 -- and this was one of the best. I have not listened to Trains in such a long time -- but it brought back why I love it so much. It mysterious, funny, dark, and gorgeous. In my all time top ten. They were filming too, for the Sundance Channel. He kept making mistakes and starting over so the tape would be perfect. I really liked the addition of the Middle Easten style singer. Diffferent, but added a great element to th songs.

Calexico
Robyn is a bloody treasure and should have his own stamp made up.
