This seatle folk duo achieve something rare, a record that sounds vintage in its underproduced apporach but is undeniably modern and relevent.

The songs are dark the lyrics are clever and the vibe is winter. This boy sounds like a mid sixties Mick Jagger with an angel on his shoulder.

When folk is this good its not folk its storytelling, 2008? well yeah I guesse it is "And the clouds keep rolling on in".

Change "Fleet Foxes" to "Cheap Time, King Khan and Jay Reatard" and I absolutely agree.

i'll admit that a good chunk of my disappointment with their live set was sound issues, but after 10-15 minutes every song just sounded identical to the previous one too.
