CortezTheKiller
I got into these guys recently. I'm loving War Elephant. The Boston Globe did a feature on these guys a few days ago. John McCauley is a local boy (Providence, RI).
Wendy
They actually played at our local punk bar in Fort Wayne and I really liked them. A lotta fun in the small club.
Maggie
I'd love this band if the vocal weren't so harsh. They're great live though. Maybe the new album won't be so hard on the ears?

solace
i guess i can see that upon first listen, but the melody is so great that i got over the vocals and really dug 'em after a few spins kinda reminds me of something from the 60's... The Troggs or The Animals maybe.
jmacomber68w
They were playing the Newbury Comics in Warwick on record store day. Sadly my mom just got home from major back surgery, so I could stay too long enough to buy the Ashes DVD. They are from the great state of Rhode Island, so I automatically like them
park
I recently discovered Deer Tick, the band with the alienating name, and have been listening to them a lot. I've also found myself searching clips on when I have free time. I find it difficult to believe there wouldn't be other fans in this crowd, so here is their thread. Discuss the band, songs, name...what have you.
Wendy
I like Deer Tick and sort of didn't think I would, but they grew on me. However - I have not yet heard The Black Dirt Sessions from 2010. I need to do that. Here's some 30-second snippets just for sampling. http://www.partisanrecords.com/artists/deer-tick/catalog/the-black-dirt-sessions (Merged 2 threads here, even though that thread was 1 year old.)
