i'm only sleeping
My complaint is not the mastering but how some of the new songs sound live. In You never know, for instance, the piano is totally drowned by Pat and the guitars sound
WilcoFan
I have always liked there compressed sound especially on Being There and SummerTeeth. The last 3 (YHF, AGIB, and SBS) always were too quiet for my liking.
barnyard pimp
Don't you have a volume knob?  Here's an audiophile's comparison of the vinyl vs CD: http://myvinylreview.blogspot.com/
ray
Don't you have a volume knob? Here's an audiophile's comparison of the vinyl vs CD: http://myvinylreview.blogspot.com/ Perhaps you didn't read the thread. The point is, it's not just a difference in volume. It's a difference in dynamics (and equalization) as part of a process used to increase perceived volume. And the comparison in that link echoes much the same thoughts. barnyard pimp
My comments were two separate points merged together by the forum. And both still apply.
Synthesizer Patel
yeah, in the other thread he'd just written the word "volume".
