rex0810
Who did the musical, Dixieland-style interludes in the Ashes of American Flags DVD? Caught it on Sundance the other night, but couldn't see the music credits to see who did it. Was it Wilco?
Guest Speed Racer
Most of those are Wilco tunes, and to my knowledge they are all performed by the Total Pros - the horns appearing at shows on the DVD.
Livin' in New Orleans
Most of those are Wilco tunes, and to my knowledge they are all performed by the Total Pros - the horns appearing at shows on the DVD. The New Orleans interlude is a Total Pros rendition of (Was I) In Your Dreams
barnyard pimp
Are these not just Wilco w/ the Total Pros and the vocals removed? Or are they actually just done by the Total Pros themselves?
choo-choo-charlie
I love the solo piano take on "She's a Jar" that plays during the credits.
Livin' in New Orleans
Who plays the piano? THAT is almost the best part of the DVD (to me) As a New Orleans resident.... I love this part... one of my favorite tunes as well.. with the horns it is just so much more meaningful. As for piano, I would imagine that it was recorded as an instrumental, so probably Jorgenson or Pat
barnyard pimp
I assumed that's just the isolated piano track from a full band performance?
Livin' in New Orleans
I assumed that's just the isolated piano track from a full band performance? It does have the horns too, so it was with the Total Pros
Livin' in New Orleans
I thought so. I love it and wished that the full length would have made it to the extras for download. The same with the horn in the scene on the bus, going over the bridge on the cover of the DVD package. Yeah, the scene with the bridge from the front in in Alabama, and the song that is playing is a section of Pieholden Suite
W(TF)
I thought the piano closing piece was Mikael playing an extension of the AOAF soundcheck. The soft horns interlude in the middle of the film sounded like a Louis Armstrong piece off Satchmo Plays King Oliver. (St James Infirmary?) Well, I could be wrong on both counts.
