Someday Some Morning Sometime, where did it go?

Recommended Posts

I searched for this tab, but I keep getting a message saying "this webpage has a redirect loop". I keep trying to refresh but I have no luck. I'm assuming it is a problem with my internet connection, other viachicago links work though. Would someone be so kind as to post the tweedy solo tab?

Not sure if this one is correct. Got it from the notoriously suspect gumbopages.

Someday Some Morning Sometime

Lyrics - Woody Guthrie

Chords/tab contributed by P J Carey <pj_carey@hotmail.com>
This is my attempt at "Someday Some Morning Sometime", my favourite
tune on MA II. The guitar doesn't really kick in until the 3rd verse,
but I'll leave it to someone else to figure out the
Wurlitzer/Delayaphone part..... F/C (x33210) sounds better than F
for most of it. Improvements welcome! (especially for the outro)
- paul

  F C G C
Someday, some morning, sometime, sometime.
F C
I'd like to hold your hand in mine.
F C
Someday some morning sometime.

    F G C
I'd like to tell you, you're pretty and fine,
F C
Your face will smile an your eyes will shine,
F C
Someday some morning sometime.

    F G C
I'll build you a house all covered in vines,
F C
I'll bring you a nickel, I'll bring you a dime,
F C
Someday some morning sometime.

F C G C
Five six seven eight oh nine,
F C
I'll take you down where the birds fly by
F C
Someday some morning sometime.

Outro (sort of):

Yes, but I remember there being a line by line tab. The only reason I'm being a stickler is because I am going to print out a tab book. For personal use obviously, don't worry I'm not planning on selling any of everyone's hard work :D

I am just puzzled at why these links are not working

Luckily, I write most of my tab posts in Word and then copy and paste them in the forum, so I have copies of stuff I did (though I don't know if anyone corrected anything as I didn't update the Word file as the topic progressed). Anyhoo, here's what I tabbed for Someday, Some Morning, Sometime:

...as far as I can tell the proper tuning is (low to high) DADADe. I’m guessing as:

(1) It seems to sound okay

(2) When I saw him live he wasn’t fretting anything to play measures 5, 7, and 8 below

I’m doing this from memory (I originally learned it from the 3/5/05 Vic show) so:

(1) I reserve the right to make changes ad nauseum (intro measure 4 is particularly hazy in my memory)

(2) There are extra strings hit here and there that I didn’t write or notice or some that I threw in that don’t belong there -- listen to it and you’ll get the gist

(3) It might sound subtly different from your recording

(4) I really love lists today

Without further ado:

Use the Ernie Ball volume pedal hooked up to the reverb thing you have laying around the house for proper effect.

Hmmm... I think when I play it now, I strum a lot more things and generally play more notes. Eh. Play what you like.
