Hi there,

The best places to scope out the show on this board are here for hard copies and here for downloads, and we generally ask that you give the tapers a week before inquiring about the availability of shows.

Welcome to VC! :)

Hello. Does anybody have a copy of the amazing 10/19/09 UIC show?

nice first post

I dont even know where to start....but please don't ask for a recording of a show within 48 hours after the show.....not a Wilco thing either.

Welcome to VC.

Also, in posting what I posted, I was hoping to avoid this. :hmm

OK..sorry to be the heavy I can only assume that the poster was just excited which is understandable.

I too hope it surfaces, but we all know it will come out when and if it does.

Maybe it's worth putting the "wait a week" banner in this forum, too? With a link to Reflecting and Future Age?

I think that deal is obsolete in a way. I think the wait a week practice was something that was more relevant in the B&P days. As I have said before - sometimes shows appear soon, later, much later, or not at all.

All people need to do is keep an eye on Greatest Lost Track of All Time section, or just search BT sites themselves. Although a show may pop-up at various places, all most all of them appear at bt.etree.org, Dime A Dozen, or The Trader's Den.

If someone is new, then they are not going to know about these things. But - anyone can learn to search.

I thought the idea behind "wait a week" was that it can take a while for tapers to produce a finished product.

Pointless anecdote: My father used to go on a lot of business trips when I was little, and would always bring us a little gift when he came back. The rule, though, was that we had to wait until he finished one beverage - coffee, gin, water, whatever - before we could ask him what he brought us. I always thought the "wait a week" rule was of the same spirit.

Sometimes shows appear the very same night they take place.

You just never know. I work on this stuff every day, and when I think I have a pattern figured out, it changes.

People are going to do what they are going to do no matter what signs or rules you post. All you can do is answer "not yet" or just ignore it. At least, that is what I do.

Don't worry about all that business - just check this section of the message board:
